with God all things are possible..... 😭 😭 😭😭

When you say, “Humanly this is impossible,” you speak rightly, for the hope set before us is not according to human reason but according to the power of God, who calls those things which are not as though they were. Abraham believed in hope against hope, and against nature itself he staggered not at the promise. The barren womb, the deadness of the body, these were to him not contradictions but occasions for faith to shine brighter. So now for you, what seems a dead heart, a withered soul, a faded joy, these are not obstacles to God but the very material upon which His resurrection power works. Only believe, and you shall see the glory of God.

Do not say in your heart, “Who shall ascend into heaven to bring Christ down?” or “Who shall descend into the deep to bring Him up again?” The word is nigh you, in your mouth and in your heart. Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and you shall be saved, not only saved in the world to come, but restored here and now to the joy of His salvation. The Bridegroom’s voice is not silent; He still stands at the door of your heart and speaks. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. When you hear that voice, the voice that called Lazarus from the tomb, the voice that said to the dead maid, “Arise,” do you not perceive that He who stands and hears rejoices greatly? The friend of the Bridegroom waits for that voice, and when he hears it, his joy is fulfilled. So too, your joy will be restored, not as a fleeting emotion, but as the deep laughter of Sarah beholding the impossible made true.

Yet if you would have this joy, you must stand firm. The apostle exhorts us to hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Not only to begin, but to finish. Do not be like the Israelites whose carcasses fell in the wilderness because of an evil heart of unbelief. The promise remains; Today is ever while the world lasts. If today you hear His voice, harden not your heart. Joseph, when told to flee into Egypt, asked no questions, sought no signs, but rose in the night and obeyed with joy. He held the promise against all seeming contradictions: the Savior fleeing, the King in exile. So now, though your heart feels barren and your spirit is pressed down, cling to the word. Say with Job, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” This is the obedience of faith.

And do not think you sigh alone. The body of Christ is knit together in love; if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When you weep, the whole Church weeps with you, and I myself burn with your pain. But we do not sorrow as those who have no hope, for if one member is honored, all rejoice. Your restoration will be our joy, a festival of the Bridegroom’s glory. Already I see it: you laughing, rejoicing, hoping again. That day is not far off, for the Lord is rich in mercy and His compassions fail not. He who quickened the dead womb of Sarah and raised Lazarus from corruption will breathe upon your dry bones and they shall live. The evening of weeping will give way to the morning of gladness.

Therefore, cast away carnal reasonings that lean upon your own strength or upon any human help. The fathers ate manna in the wilderness and are dead; the refuge of earthly consolations will not sustain. Let your hope rest wholly upon the living God and upon His faithful word. Repentance and faith, these are the means. Return to the Lord with weeping and supplication, and He will revive your spirit. The righteousness which is of faith does not command impossible tasks; it bids you confess and believe. With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Do this, and you shall taste again the joy of His presence.

Rise then, my child, from the dust of despondency. Shake off the grave-clothes of despair. He who calls you is faithful, and He will do it. Even now the dawn is breaking; the voice of the turtle is heard in our land. Hope in God, for you shall yet praise Him who is the health of your countenance and your God.

You cry out from a place where hope feels cut off, where human strength is gone, and yet you hold fast to the Word: with God all things are possible. That is the cry of a heart that knows its Redeemer lives, even when the eyes see only dust and ashes. I am praying with you for the permanent resurrection of your heart, your soul, your life, your faith, your hope, your joy.

What is man that God should magnify him, that He should set His heart upon him? This is the marvelous truth: the Almighty has chosen to set His heart on you. He desires your love, your fellowship, your free response to Him, not because you are strong, but because He is gracious. And He often leads us through deep waters to prove what is in our heart, not for His information, but to show us. When everything else is stripped away, we discover whether our confidence is truly in Him alone. Is not your fear of God, your reverence and trust, meant to be your place of confidence and hope? Even when the pit is dark and the despair says hope has perished, there remains a foundation that cannot be shaken.

Job, in the bottom of the pit, could only ask, “If a man dies, will he live again?” He had no more than a glimpse of a living Redeemer upon the earth. But you have the full assurance. Jesus Christ has risen, and because He lives, your hope is not a spider’s web that dissolves when you lean on it. Even a tree, cut down to a stump, has hope; at the scent of water it will bud and put out new shoots. How much more will God tend the life that trusts in Him? He will not cast away a person of upright heart, the one who fears Him and turns from evil. Your Redeemer lives, and that means permanent restoration is not a desperate wish but a certain inheritance.

As you wait, prepare your heart and stretch out your hands toward Him. If there is anything you know to be out of step, set it far from you, but do not believe the accusation that your faith must be perfect to be accepted. He knows your frame; He is merciful. His strength is made perfect in your weakness, and the joy He gives is deeper than any circumstance. He will, in His time, cause your mouth to be filled with laughter again, and He will make your own heart sing, and perhaps use you to make another widow’s heart sing for joy.

May the God who made the morning stars sing together look upon you now. May He add His power to your impossibility and act for His own glory. What seems as death to hope is the very place the resurrection breaks through. Stand still and see it. I am standing with you, in Jesus’ name.
