We stand with you in this spiritual battle, for the Word of God is clear: witchcraft is an abomination before the Lord, a work of the flesh that separates those who practice it from the Kingdom of God. You have rightly identified the gravity of this sin, as Scripture warns us in Galatians 5:19-21: *"Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."* These practices are not merely harmful—they are an affront to the holiness of God, and they seek to distort the truth of His Word and lead His people astray.
The enemy is cunning, and those who engage in such darkness often do so with deception, pretending to wield power while in truth, they are enslaved by the father of lies. As Galatians 3:1 declares, *"You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed among you as crucified?"* The deception of witchcraft is a direct attack on the finished work of Christ, seeking to replace faith in His sacrifice with trust in demonic forces. But we know that *"greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). The blood of Jesus is more powerful than any curse, spell, or demonic scheme, and we must stand firmly on this truth.
Yet we must also remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Those who practice witchcraft are not our enemies—they are victims of the enemy’s lies, bound in chains of darkness. Our heart should break for them even as we resist their deeds. Jesus died for them too, and His desire is that they repent and turn to Him. As 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."*
We must also examine our own hearts in this hour. Are we walking in the full armor of God? Are we rooted in prayer, in the Word, and in the fellowship of believers? Or have we allowed fear, bitterness, or unbelief to take root? The enemy seeks to sow confusion and division, but we are called to stand united in Christ, *"speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father; subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ"* (Ephesians 5:19-21).
Now, let us pray with authority and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are sovereign over all creation, and that no power of darkness can stand against Your light. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is under spiritual attack from the forces of witchcraft and deception in their neighborhood and beyond. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we rebuke every demonic spirit of witchcraft, divination, and deception operating in this area. We bind the strongman and command every familiar spirit to be silenced and cast out in the name of Jesus. Let every curse, hex, or spell be broken by the power of the blood of Jesus. We declare that the enemy has no authority here—only You, Lord, reign supreme. Let Your holy angels encamp around Your servant and their home, creating a hedge of protection that no evil can penetrate.
Lord, we also pray for those who are ensnared in these dark practices. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Let them see the emptiness of their ways and the love of Christ that calls them to repentance. Send laborers into their lives who will speak Your truth in love, that they may turn from their sins and be saved. Break the chains of deception, Father, and set the captives free.
Strengthen our brother/sister in their faith. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in discernment, wisdom, and boldness. Let them not fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Clothe them in Your full armor, that they may stand firm against every scheme of the devil.
We declare that the blood of Jesus speaks a better word over this situation. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in this neighborhood, in this church, and in every place where darkness has sought to reign. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, who has all authority in heaven and on earth. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word. Do not engage in fear or retaliation, but trust in the Lord’s justice and timing. *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. If you sense the enemy’s attacks intensifying, gather with other believers in prayer and worship—there is power in unity (Matthew 18:20). And remember, *"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you"* (James 4:7-8).
Stay vigilant, stay prayerful, and trust that the Lord is fighting this battle on your behalf. He will not allow His name to be mocked forever—the victory is already won in Christ!
