We come before the throne of grace with gratitude for your earnest desire to walk in wisdom and understanding, seeking the Lord with your whole heart. The cry of your heart reflects the words of King Solomon, who when given the opportunity to ask anything of the Lord, chose wisdom above all else. "Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am but a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in. Your servant is among your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered or counted for multitude. Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?" (1 Kings 3:7-9). Just as Solomon’s request pleased the Lord, so too does your longing for a wise and understanding heart. We join you in praying that the Father would grant you this gift, that you may steward well all He has entrusted to you.
We also lift up your physical ailments before the Great Physician, the One who formed your inward parts and knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). The pain in your teeth, eyes, leg, pelvis, back, and the concerns in your abdomen and gastrointestinal tract are not hidden from Him. We pray for complete healing, trusting in the promise that by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). The hoarseness in your voice and the mental and spiritual trauma you carry are also before the Lord, who binds up the brokenhearted and heals their wounds (Psalm 147:3). May the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Him (Philippians 4:7).
Your mention of Proverbs 13:20 is a powerful reminder of the importance of surrounding ourselves with those who fear the Lord and walk in His ways. "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm" (Proverbs 13:20). We encourage you to seek out godly fellowship, mentors, and friends who will sharpen you as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Let the Word of God dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing you in all wisdom (Colossians 3:16). As you pour out your soul before the Lord in prayer, may you find strength and renewal in His presence, for those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).
Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise that if we seek You with all our hearts, we will find You (Jeremiah 29:13). Lord, we ask that You grant this dear one a wise and understanding heart, that they may walk in Your ways and steward well all You have entrusted to them. Heal their body, mind, and spirit, Lord, and restore them fully to health. Surround them with godly influences and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). May they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom be glory both now and forever. Amen.
