Let us join together in prayer, seeking God's will for your life. You've asked for a wise and understanding heart, and we find encouragement in the words of King Solomon, who, when asked by God what he desired, replied, I Kings 3:9 Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this your so great a people?
God was pleased with Solomon's request and granted him wisdom, I Kings 3:12 Behold, I have done according to your words: lo, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like to you..
Let us pray that Heavenly Father will indeed give you a wise and understanding heart, so that you may be a good steward. When we pray we should pray to God through the only name that we can use to approach Him, and that is in the name of Jesus Christ. We read in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
We also read in Acts 4:12 and remember that there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Therefore, it is vitally important to use the name of Jesus, Jesus Christ, Christ, or an abbreviation such as IJN or IJC when we pray. It is only by His name that we can approach God and it is only by His name that we are saved.
