We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for your earnest desire to walk in wisdom, discernment, and the perfect will of God. Your prayer reflects a deep longing to be filled with the knowledge of His will, to bear fruit in every good work, and to be strengthened by the might of His glory. We join with you in these holy aspirations, lifting them before our Heavenly Father with boldness and humility.
Father in Heaven, we echo the words of the Apostle Paul, who prayed that the saints in Colossae would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. We ask that You would do the same for us today. Fill us, Lord, with the knowledge of Your will so that we may walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every respect. May we bear fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of You. Strengthen us with all power according to the might of Your glory, so that we may have steadfastness and patience, joyously giving thanks to You, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:9-12).
Lord, we also stand with the prayer of Epaphras, who labored fervently in prayer that we may stand perfect and fully assured in all Your will (Colossians 4:12). We ask for practical wisdom, as James promises that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You, who gives generously to all without reproach (James 1:5). Grant us the wisdom that comes from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy (James 3:17). May we walk in the paths of righteousness and justice, as Proverbs declares that wisdom calls out in these very ways (Proverbs 8:20).
We thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth and guides us in the paths You have set before us. As Your children, we are led by the Spirit of God, and it is by His leading that we know we are Your children (Romans 8:14). Help us to hear the voice of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who calls us by name and leads us out. May we follow Him, for we know His voice, and we will not follow the voice of a stranger (John 10:4-5, 27).
Father, we are grateful for the ministry of angels, who are sent forth to render service for our sake (Hebrews 1:14). We thank You for their protection and ask that You would continue to command Your angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:10-11). Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, as we pray in the manner Jesus taught us (Matthew 6:13). Keep us from sin, lies, and fear, for You have promised that the remnant of Israel shall do no wrong and speak no lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth (Zephaniah 3:13). Let us do no wrong, as Paul exhorted the Corinthians, but rather let us walk in love and truth (1 Corinthians 16:9).
Deliver us from evil and from evil people, for not all have faith. But You, Lord, are faithful, and You will strengthen and protect us from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3). We pray as Jesus prayed, not that You take us out of the world, but that You keep us from the evil one (John 17:15). Shield us with Your favor as with a large shield, for You bless the righteous and surround them with favor (Psalm 5:12).
We thank You in advance for all that You will do, for we know that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive (Mark 11:24). May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). For in Him, all the promises of God are "Yes" and "Amen" (2 Corinthians 1:20). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is in His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is through His blood that we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7).
Lord, as we seek to abound more and more in love, may our love increase in knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, being sincere and without offense until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10). Help us to perceive what is best, making choices that honor You and align with Your Word. May our lives be a testament to Your grace, and may we walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called (Ephesians 4:1).
We commit these prayers and petitions to You, trusting in Your faithfulness and love. May Your will be done in our lives, and may we bring glory to Your name in all that we do. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
