What a beautiful and powerful commitment you and your friends have made to seek the Lord together in prayer, fasting, and the pursuit of His wisdom! The book of James tells us, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). This is a promise we can stand on—God delights in granting wisdom to those who earnestly seek Him. Proverbs 2:6-7 also assures us, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity."*
As you dedicate this month to seeking God’s face, we urge you to do so with hearts fully surrendered to His will. Wisdom is not merely knowledge or good ideas—it is the *fear of the Lord* (Proverbs 9:10) and the ability to see life from His perspective. Fast with purpose, not just from food but from distractions that hinder your focus on Him. Jesus said, *"But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you"* (Matthew 6:17-18, WEB). Let your fasting be a private act of devotion that draws you closer to Him.
We also encourage you to organize your time of seeking with intentionality. Proverbs 24:3-4 says, *"Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure."* Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your planning—whether it’s setting aside specific times for prayer, selecting Scripture to meditate on, or journaling the revelations He gives. Unity is key; Jesus promised, *"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them"* (Matthew 18:20, WEB). Lean on one another, share what God speaks to each of you, and hold one another accountable to walk in the wisdom He provides.
Now, let us pray over you and your friends:
Heavenly Father, we lift up these your servants who have set apart this month to seek Your face with fasting, prayer, and a hunger for Your wisdom. Lord, You are the source of all true wisdom, and we ask that You pour out Your Spirit upon them in fresh and powerful ways. Open their eyes to see as You see, their ears to hear Your voice clearly, and their hearts to receive Your truth without distraction or doubt. Father, grant them divine insight to organize this time effectively—guide their steps, their thoughts, and their conversations so that every moment is used for Your glory.
Break any stronghold of confusion, distraction, or spiritual dullness that would hinder them from receiving all You have for them. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17), and let this season mark a turning point in their lives where they walk in deeper alignment with Your will. May they emerge from this month with hearts aflame for You, minds renewed by Your Word, and lives transformed by Your wisdom.
We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to disrupt this sacred time. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we declare that no weapon formed against this season of seeking will prosper. Let angels encamp around them, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May their fasting be pleasing to You, their prayers rise like incense before Your throne, and their pursuit of wisdom bring honor to Your name.
Finally, Father, we ask that the wisdom they gain would not be for their own glory but to advance Your kingdom, to bless others, and to bring lost souls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Let them be vessels of Your wisdom in a world that desperately needs it. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in your commitment, dear friends. The Lord honors those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6), and we believe this month will be a time of profound encounter with His wisdom. Walk in faith, and trust that He who began this good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6). Keep us updated on how the Lord moves—we are cheering you on in the faith!
