Wind and storms

Beloved of All
Praying for the high winds to calm and protection for all in the path of the heavy rains and flooded areas, in Jesus' name, Amen

We lift our voices together in fervent prayer, calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to calm the winds and still the storms that rage across the land. Father God, You are the Creator of heaven and earth, the One who commands the winds and the waves with a word. We stand in awe of Your power and trust in Your mercy as we bring these concerns before You.

Lord, we ask You to speak peace into the chaos. Just as You rebuked the storm on the Sea of Galilee and said, "Peace, be still!" (Mark 4:39), we pray You would calm the winds and bring an end to the heavy rains that threaten homes, lives, and livelihoods. Let Your hand of protection cover those in the path of these storms, shielding them from harm and providing shelter in the midst of the tempest.

We pray for those in flooded areas, Lord. May Your angels encamp around them, guiding them to safety and providing for their needs. Give wisdom to those in authority, emergency responders, local leaders, and volunteers, as they work tirelessly to protect and rescue those in danger. Strengthen their hands and renew their spirits, for You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we also lift up those who may be feeling fear or despair in the face of these storms. Remind them that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May they find comfort in Your promise that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).

We rebuke the spirit of destruction and chaos in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust in Your deliverance. Even in the midst of the storm, we proclaim that You are our rock, our fortress, and our deliverer (Psalm 18:2).

Lord, we ask that You would use this time to draw people closer to You. May those who do not yet know You see Your hand at work and turn to You in repentance and faith. Let this be a time of revival, where hearts are softened and lives are transformed by the power of the Gospel.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the One through whom we have access to the Father. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all the earth. Amen.

We feel the weight of that kind of weather, the roar of wind, the anxiety of rising water. It’s right to bring this to God, trusting He holds every gust and downpour in His hands. While we ask for calm and protection, practical care matters too: keep a weather radio handy, have a go-bag ready if you’re in a vulnerable spot, and check on neighbors who might need help boarding windows or moving to higher ground. That simple act of looking out for one another often steadies our own hearts in the middle of the storm.

Father, in Jesus’ name we ask You to quiet these winds and hold back the floodwaters. Give wisdom to those making decisions right now, emergency workers, local leaders, families deciding whether to shelter in place. Guard every person in the path: the elderly, children, those without a safe place to ride it out. Calm the fears that rise with the water level, and let Your peace stand guard over hearts that are gripping for control. We trust You for provision and safety, even when the forecast looks grim. Be merciful, Lord, and bring a swift end to the danger. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift these prayers up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have done well to cry out to Him who is Lord of the north and south and east and west, for He manages the wind and the storm. Yet remember that we are often fearing what never happens, we feel a thousand deaths in fearing one. Many a soul has been afraid of what never would occur, watching the wind and therefore not sowing the seed, regarding the clouds and so forbearing to reap. Trust the eternal Word of God on which you rest, and know that Jehovah still reigns. The wind blows where it wishes, not where man wills, and the same Spirit who moves with the suddenness of a gale is He who can say to the tempest, Peace, be still.

Our safety lies not in the absence of the storm, but in the Ark which outlives every flood. You who are in Christ are secure as the strongest saint, for when the unrelenting billows rise, the vessel of His grace mounts higher still and draws nearer heaven with every surge. He who is able to keep you from falling holds you fast, and His throne might sooner fail than a single blood-bought soul should perish. Set a hard face against the sharp wind, and go right straight on in faith, for you shall be more than conqueror through Him that loved you. The hurricane which destroys the wicked lifts the believer upward, carried as on wings toward the presence of His glory.

Yet let us not presume, for we constantly need to cry to God to keep us. I join you in prayer for all who are in the path of this heavy rain and flooding, and I ask the Lord to stretch out His mighty hand as a protection round about them. May none perish, but may many be brought to enter the true Ark of safety, looking to Christ, so that when the floods rise, they are found safe in Him.

You pray for the winds to cease and for safety amid the flood, and rightly so, for we are frail creatures who tremble before the fury of the elements. Yet I would also urge you to seek the calm that surpasses all earthly stillness, the peace of a soul anchored in Christ. The storm outside cannot shake the one whose mind is stayed on Him. When the disciples cried out in the tempest, He rebuked the wind and sea, but first He rebuked their little faith. The storm arose that they might seek Him; it ceased that they might know His power. So for you, this present gale is not merely a threat to the body, but a summons to cast off fear and cling to the Lord of all creation.

See how He permits these blasts, not to destroy, but to draw you nearer, to lighten your grip on earthly things. The sailor throws cargo overboard to save the vessel; so you, when the floods rise, cast your anxieties upon Him. Do not fix your hope on fair skies, but on the One who made the skies. Let your soul become a heaven, bright and untroubled, far above the rains and the raging deep. It is not circumstances that cause confusion, but the infirmity of our minds. Order your mind to bear all things contentedly, and you will have a clear calm though the earth itself be shaken.

Call now upon the Lord with reverence, not merely from habit, but with the cry of the desperate, as Moses interceded for those who wronged him, as Stephen prayed for his murderers. In such calling there is great reward, for He is near to all who call upon Him in truth. The same voice that said, "It is I, be not afraid," speaks peace to you now. His power is not shortened, nor His ear heavy. Therefore, let not your heart be troubled, for He who commands the winds is your refuge. The present trial is but a sign of His coming mercy; the ultimate calm awaits those who trust in Him. So pray for deliverance, yes, but pray with faith, and receive the inward stillness that no storm can take away.

When the winds howl and the rains pound, it’s easy to feel as helpless as those sailors who were driven for days without seeing sun or stars. They threw their cargo overboard, did everything they could to keep the ship afloat, and even despaired of life itself. They couldn’t control their course; the storm was bigger than their skill. Yet in the middle of that chaos, God’s purpose was still unfolding, and He brought them through when they had no resources left.

We know from Scripture that the world we live in now wasn’t always this way. Before the great flood in Noah’s day, the earth may have known nothing of the violent wind storms we endure today. The flood changed the whole face of the globe, lifting arks, covering mountains, and carving new paths for the winds. After that judgment, God made a promise: never again would a flood destroy all flesh from the earth. That covenant doesn’t mean we won’t face local floods or howling winds; it means God has set a boundary on judgment and is working out a larger plan of mercy. So when you pray for the high winds to calm and for protection in flooded areas, you’re leaning on the very heart of a God who rules the wind and waves.

Jesus showed us that authority when He stood in a boat on a raging sea and simply spoke, “Peace, be still.” He is the same Lord who, as our great high priest, has entered heaven itself to represent us before the Father. He’s not distant; He’s not indifferent. He offered Himself once for all, not like the old high priests who had to repeat sacrifices year after year. And because He lives forever to intercede for us, you can bring your fear and your prayers straight to Him, knowing He understands.

Take courage in that. Whether the wind subsides or the rain lingers, you are not alone. Sometimes He leads us through routes with contrary winds, through places we don’t understand, only to show later that He was directing all along. The God who lifted Noah’s ark above the flood is the same God who holds you, and He will not let you go. Keep trusting, keep praying, and rest in Jesus, who has already anchored your soul in heaven.
