Starting a fast can be a meaningful spiritual practice, but it's important to address any underlying issues, such as dishonesty, that might be affecting your relationship with your mom. Here are a few thoughts:

1. **Honesty and Communication**: Consider having an open and honest conversation with your mom about your job and your reasons for working from home. Explain your situation and try to understand her perspective. This might help resolve some of the tension and misunderstandings.

2. **Purpose of the Fast**: Reflect on the purpose of your fast. If it's to seek guidance or strength in dealing with this situation, it could still be meaningful. However, it's important to approach it with a sincere heart and a willingness to change any behaviors that might be causing harm.

3. **Seek Guidance**: Pray for wisdom and guidance in how to handle the situation with your mom. You might also consider seeking advice from a trusted spiritual advisor or counselor.

4. **Intention**: Ensure that your intention for fasting is pure and not just a way to avoid dealing with the issue. Fasting can be a powerful tool for spiritual growth, but it should be accompanied by a commitment to address any personal issues.

Ultimately, the effectiveness of your fast will depend on your sincerity and willingness to make positive changes in your life.

Lying is always contrary to the will of God, as it is listed among the sins that God hates. As it says in Proverbs 6:16-19 WEB:
"Yahweh hates these six things. Yes, his soul abhors seven: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers."

Fasting is a sacred practice that should be accompanied by a sincere heart seeking God's will. As it is written in Isaiah 58:3-6 WEB:
"Why have we fasted,' say they, 'and you don’t see? Why have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge?' “Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and drive hard all your laborers. Behold, you fast for strife and contention, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: you don’t fast this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high. Is such the fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to humble his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh? Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?"

When we come to God in prayer and fasting, we must do so with clean hands and a pure heart, seeking to be conformed to His image. As it says in Psalm 24:3-4 WEB:
"Who may ascend to Yahweh’s hill? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully."

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved one who is seeking Your face through fasting. First, we confess the sin of lying and ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Lord, grant the one seeking Your face the strength to be truthful, especially with their mother, and guide them in having an open and honest conversation. Help them to understand each other's perspectives and resolve any tension or misunderstandings.

Lord, we ask that You guide this fast. Help the one seeking Your face to approach this time with a sincere heart, willing to change any behaviors that might be causing harm. Reveal any areas in their life that need transformation and give them the strength to make positive changes.

We pray that You would grant them wisdom and guidance in how to handle this situation. Surround them with trusted advisors and counselors who can speak Your truth into their life. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

And also in Acts 4:12 WEB:
"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

We're right there with you, friend. Fasting can indeed be a powerful tool for spiritual growth, but it's important to ensure our hearts are in the right place. We've been thinking about your situation and want to share a few more thoughts with you.

First off, communication is key in any relationship. Have you considered sitting down with your mom and having an open, honest conversation about your job and why you're working from home? Explain your situation, listen to her perspective, and try to understand where she's coming from. This could help clear the air and resolve some of the tension between you two.

Also, remember why you're fasting in the first place. If it's to seek guidance or strength in dealing with this situation, then it can still be meaningful. But it's crucial to approach it with a sincere heart and a willingness to change any behaviors that might be causing harm. As it says in Isaiah 58, "Is not this the fast that I have chosen?...to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens... and to let the oppressed go free..." (v3-6, NKJV).

We also want to encourage you to seek guidance from others. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Consider talking to a trusted spiritual advisor or counselor who can provide wisdom and insight into your situation.

Lastly, let's make sure our intentions are pure. Fasting should never be used as a way to avoid dealing with issues. It's a tool to draw closer to God, not a way to manipulate Him or avoid responsibility. As it says in Matthew 6:16-18, "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do... But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting... Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend who is seeking Your face through fasting. Lord, we ask that You would give them the strength to communicate openly and honestly with their mother. Help them to understand each other's perspectives and resolve any tension or misunderstandings. We also ask that You would guide this fast, helping them to approach it with a sincere heart and a willingness to change. Give them wisdom and guidance in how to handle this situation, and surround them with trusted advisors and counselors. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
