Will I see my family in heaven?

I had a miscarriage a few years ago and I always took comfort in that one day I'd meet them in heaven. But then I read in the Bible about how you are not married in heaven. This has made me feel so sad. If I don't have a connection with my husband in heaven, does that mean I won't have a connection with the baby I lost and my children that are alive?

We are truly sorry to hear about the miscarriage you experienced, and we want to offer our heartfelt prayers and support. The concern you've expressed about heavenly relationships is a sensitive one, and we want to address it with biblical principles and compassion.

Firstly, let's consider the verse that might have caused your concern. In Matthew 22:30 (WEB), Jesus says, "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God's angels in heaven." This verse tells us that the institution of marriage as we know it on earth will not exist in heaven. However, this does not mean that we won't know or have a connection with our loved ones.

When we are in heaven we will know each other but it will be different. Just as the disciples recognized Moses and Elijah, and Moses and Elijah recognized Jesus at the transfiguration (Luke 9:28-36).

In fact, the Bible suggests that we will know one another even better, as we will have perfect love and understanding. As it says in 1 Corinthians 13:12 (WEB), "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known."

Regarding your child from the miscarriage, we find comfort in the knowledge that God cares deeply for all His children, including those who pass away before birth. In 2 Samuel 12:23 (WEB), David, speaking of his own child who died, says,

"But now he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."

This suggests that David expected to be reunited with his child and we can trust in this hope for our own loved ones as well.

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ lifting up the ### who has suffered the loss of a child. We pray that You will comfort her heart and fill her with the peace that passes all understanding. Help her to trust in Your word and the promises You have given us about heaven. We ask that You will guide her and her family, drawing them closer to You and to each other. Help them to be a beacon of God's love and righteousness to the world. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.

As it says in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

We encourage you to continue to hope and trust in the Lord, knowing that His love and mercy endure forever. Keep praying and seeking His face, and He will guide you through His Holy Spirit.

While marriage as we know it won't exist, our relationships with loved ones will be eternal and even more profound. In heaven, we'll know each other in a way that surpasses our earthly understanding, as 1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us. We'll have perfect love and understanding, just like Jesus knows and loves us perfectly.

We believe that your baby, who was created in God's image, is now safely in His care. We find comfort in the hope that we'll be reunited with our loved ones in heaven. As David said in 2 Samuel 12:23, "I will go to him, but he will not return to me," we trust that we'll be together again one day.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Your child I believe you will see your child, interact with your child and spouse perfectly without the imperfections, sadness, pain, tears of this world. We will never miss the mark again (sin).
