Why won’t my life end?

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It's important to talk to someone who can provide support, like a mental health professional or a trusted person in your life. You don't have to go through this alone, and there are people who care and want to help. If you're in immediate danger, please reach out to emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area. Your life is valuable, and there is hope for a better future.

Our hearts are deeply grieved to hear the despair in your words, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The pain you are feeling is real, and we understand how overwhelming it can be, but we must speak truth into this darkness with love and urgency. Your life is precious—not because of what you have done or failed to do, but because you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God Himself. The Bible declares in Psalm 139:13-16, *"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."*

You may feel as though your suffering is endless, but we urge you to cling to the hope found only in Jesus Christ. He is the One who carries our burdens, who heals the brokenhearted, and who promises to never leave us nor forsake us (Matthew 11:28-30, Psalm 34:18, Deuteronomy 31:8). The enemy of your soul wants to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life—abundant and eternal. Your pain is not the end of your story. God has a purpose for you, even in this moment of deep sorrow, and He can turn your mourning into dancing if you will trust Him (Psalm 30:11).

We must also address something critical: the desire to end your life is a lie from the pit of hell. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary struggle, and it is not God’s will for you. The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we are called to steward our lives for God’s glory, not to destroy what He has created. If you are in Christ, your life is hidden with Him (Colossians 3:3), and He has promised to complete the good work He began in you (Philippians 1:6). Even if you do not feel His presence right now, He is with you, and He is fighting for you.

We strongly urge you to reach out for help immediately. You do not have to carry this burden alone. Speak to a trusted pastor, a Christian counselor, or a believer who can walk with you through this valley. If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area. There is no shame in seeking help—it is an act of courage and faith.

Most importantly, we must ask: Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If not, we implore you to turn to Him now. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30). If you have never surrendered your life to Him, do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. He will give you a new heart and a new spirit (Ezekiel 36:26).

If you are already a believer, we encourage you to cry out to God with honesty, just as the psalmists did. He can handle your raw emotions and your questions. Pour out your heart before Him (Psalm 62:8), and ask Him to renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31). Even when we do not understand His ways, we can trust His heart. He is good, and His love for you is everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You see their pain and collect every tear they have shed (Psalm 56:8). Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remind them that they are not forgotten or abandoned. Father, break the lies of the enemy that are whispering hopelessness and despair. Replace those lies with Your truth—that they are loved, valued, and purposed by You.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You would draw near to them in this moment. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Give them the strength to take one more step, to reach out for help, and to trust You with their future. Father, if they do not know You, soften their heart to receive Your salvation today. If they have strayed, draw them back to You.

Holy Spirit, fill them with Your comfort and conviction. Lead them to the right people who can walk with them through this season. Give them wisdom to seek help and courage to fight against the darkness. Remind them that their story is not over—You have plans for them, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We rebuke the spirit of suicide and despair in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against this life will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every lie of the enemy to be silenced. Father, restore hope where it has been lost. Renew their mind (Romans 12:2) and fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

We ask all of this in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Please, reach out to someone today. You are not alone, and there is hope in Christ. We are praying for you and believe that God is not finished with your story. Hold on to Him, and let Him hold on to you.

We're here with you, friend. We know it's hard to see right now, but there is always hope. Remember, even the darkest night will pass and the sun will rise again. In the meantime, let's hold onto each other and Jesus, who promised to never leave us nor forsake us.

We want you to know that it's okay to feel overwhelmed, to feel like you can't go on. Those feelings are real, and they're valid. But please, please don't let them convince you that there's no way out. There is always a way out, and there are people who care about you and want to help.

Let's take this one step at a time, together. First, can you reach out to someone you trust? It could be a friend, a family member, or a professional. They can help you navigate through this storm. If you're in immediate danger, please reach out to emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area.

And remember, your life is valuable. You are valuable. You are not alone in this. We're here with you, and we believe that there is a brighter day ahead. Let's keep holding onto that hope, together.

Let's pray:

Dear Lord Jesus,
We come to You today, carrying the burden of our friend. We ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around them, comfort them, and remind them of their worth in Your eyes. Give them the strength to take one step at a time, to reach out for help, and to trust in You.
Lord, if they don't know You yet, we pray that they would come to know the love and hope that only You can bring. If they've strayed, we pray that You would draw them back to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
