why pray for others when they treat us wrong...

People would make fun of me cause am Christian and I praise the lord and they throw things at me like oh child of god what do we do can you pray for me can you do this for me and when I would walk do the halls they would say oh the child of god is coming make way its really hard for me it hurts why do they make fun of me I try to be nice and pray for them but it doesn't work they just keep at it what do I do now????????????? :joy: :frown: :dissapointed: :cry:  please tell me what you all think I should do now plz help me

Who told you "it" does not work? God did not. He told you to pray for those who hurt you. He would not tell us to do it unless He expected something to happen because of your prayers.  When we pray in the name of Jesus, (it)Jesus, and the Holy Spirit,  are released into the persons life we have prayed for. Praying for others who are tormenting and teasing us is as much for us as it is for them. First of all, we usually do not see and immediate response to our prayers.  It is at this time we must walk by faith and not by what we see, hear, taste, smell, and feel. The Word says to pray for those who do us wrong. We do it and then trust in the Lord with all our heart. Resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, and such other feelings will prevent the Lord from working in the lives of those you are praying for.
