🤺Whole Armor of God for Believers, Eph 6:10-20...

Faithful Servant
🤺“Finally, brothers and sisters, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the Whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the Whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with Truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of The Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in The Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak," Eph‬ ‭6:11-20‬, in Jesus' Name.

What a mighty and timely reminder you have lifted up before us from Ephesians 6:10-20! Indeed, the call to put on the whole armor of God is not merely a suggestion but a divine command for every believer, for we are engaged in a spiritual battle that rages beyond what our eyes can see. The enemy seeks to devour, deceive, and destroy, but our God has equipped us with everything we need to stand firm and victorious in Christ Jesus.

Let us first acknowledge that this passage leaves no room for complacency or spiritual laziness. The apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, urges us to *be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might*—not in our own strength, for that would be futile. Our strength is found in Christ alone, and it is through Him that we can resist the schemes of the devil. The battle is real, and it is spiritual. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world. This is why we must be clothed in the armor God has provided, for without it, we are vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks.

Let’s break down this armor piece by piece, for each part is essential and carries deep spiritual significance.

1. **The Belt of Truth**: The belt of a Roman soldier held everything together, and likewise, truth is what holds our spiritual lives together. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life"* (John 14:6, WEB). Without truth, we are easily deceived. The enemy is the father of lies (John 8:44), and he will twist God’s Word to lead us astray. We must be grounded in the truth of Scripture, for it is our foundation. *"Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth"* (John 17:17, WEB).

2. **The Breastplate of Righteousness**: This piece of armor protects the heart, the core of who we are. Righteousness is not our own, for our own righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). It is the righteousness of Christ imputed to us when we place our faith in Him. *"For he made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God"* (2 Corinthians 5:21, WEB). When we live in righteousness, we guard our hearts against the accusations and temptations of the enemy.

3. **The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace**: Our feet must be ready to move, to go forth with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The gospel brings peace between God and man, and it is our mission to share this peace with a lost and broken world. *"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!"* (Romans 10:15, WEB). We are called to be ambassadors of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:20), and our readiness comes from the preparation of the gospel.

4. **The Shield of Faith**: Faith is our defense against the fiery darts of the enemy—doubts, fears, and lies that seek to pierce our souls. *"Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen"* (Hebrews 11:1, WEB). When we lift up our shield of faith, we extinguish the enemy’s attacks. Faith is not passive; it is active trust in God’s promises, even when we cannot see the outcome.

5. **The Helmet of Salvation**: The helmet protects the mind, and salvation is the assurance that our minds are guarded by the knowledge of who we are in Christ. *"For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ"* (1 Thessalonians 5:9, WEB). The enemy will try to fill our minds with condemnation, confusion, and despair, but the helmet of salvation reminds us that we are redeemed, forgiven, and secure in Christ.

6. **The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God**: This is our only offensive weapon. The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Jesus Himself used Scripture to rebuke the devil in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). We must know the Word, study it, memorize it, and wield it with precision. It is by the Word that we demolish strongholds and take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

Finally, Paul exhorts us to pray *always with all prayer and requests in the Spirit*. Prayer is the lifeline of the believer. It is how we communicate with our Commander, Jesus Christ. We are to be watchful, persevering in prayer not only for ourselves but for all the saints. Paul even asks for prayer for himself, that he may boldly proclaim the mystery of the gospel. This reminds us that we are all in this battle together, and we must intercede for one another.

Now, let us pray together over this powerful passage and for every believer who is standing in the midst of spiritual warfare:

---
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the armor You have provided for us, that we may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. Lord, we acknowledge that our strength is not in ourselves but in You alone. Fill us with Your power and might, that we may walk in victory and not be overcome by the evil one.

Father, we ask that You gird us with the belt of truth. Let Your Word be the foundation of our lives, and may we never be deceived by the lies of the enemy. Clothe us with the breastplate of righteousness, not our own, but the righteousness of Christ. Protect our hearts from sin and accusation, and let us walk in holiness before You.

Prepare our feet with the gospel of peace, Lord. Make us ready to share the Good News with boldness and love. Let us be ambassadors of Your kingdom, bringing light to the darkness. Grant us faith, Lord—a faith that is unshakable, that quenches every fiery dart the enemy hurls at us. May our faith be active and alive, trusting in Your promises no matter what we see or feel.

Guard our minds with the helmet of salvation. Remind us daily of our identity in Christ, that we are redeemed, forgiven, and sealed by Your Spirit. Let no weapon of condemnation or doubt take root in our thoughts.

Sharpen our swords, Lord—the Word of God. Teach us to wield it with precision and authority. Let us hide Your Word in our hearts, that we might not sin against You. May Your Scriptures be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.

And finally, Father, ignite in us a passion for prayer. Teach us to pray without ceasing, to be watchful and persistent in our intercession for the saints. Give us boldness to proclaim the gospel, just as Paul did, even in the face of opposition. Let us stand united as Your body, lifting one another up in prayer and encouragement.

We rebuked every scheme of the enemy that seeks to hinder Your people. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, for our God is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We stand firm in Your armor, knowing that the battle is Yours, and the victory is already won through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and King. Amen.
---

Beloved, let us not take this armor lightly. The enemy is prowling like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). But greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Put on the whole armor of God daily. Stand firm. Pray without ceasing. And remember, the Lord is with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Be strong in Him!

Dear friend, let's not forget the power we have in Christ Jesus. We are not fighting alone, but we have the mighty armor of God at our disposal. Let's put it on every day, as if we're dressing for battle - because in a sense, we are. The enemy is real, and he's not taking a day off. But neither should we.

Let's gird our waists with truth. Let's be honest with ourselves and with others. Let's not be swayed by lies or half-truths. Let's stand firm in righteousness. Let's live lives that reflect the righteousness of Christ, not our own. Let's be ready to share the good news of peace with others. Let's be ambassadors of hope in a world that needs it.

Let's take up the shield of faith. Let's believe, really believe, that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He promises. Let's quench the fiery darts of the enemy with our faith.

Let's put on the helmet of salvation. Let's remember who we are in Christ. Let's live in the assurance of our salvation, not in fear or doubt.

And let's take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Let's know it, live it, and wield it with precision. It's our only offensive weapon, and it's a mighty one.

Let's pray always, with all kinds of prayers and requests. Let's be watchful, persevering in prayer for ourselves and for each other. Let's intercede, just as Paul asked the church to do for him.

Let's stand together, united in Christ. Let's lift each other up in prayer and encouragement. The enemy wants to divide us, but we are stronger together.

Let's remember, the battle is the Lord's. He has already won the victory. We just need to stand in it. So, let's stand, dear friend. Let's stand.
