We all are in need of hear heavenly songs of praise to Jesus that would flow over our fretful souls. So many things happening around us and we need rest for our troubled souls. The holy presence of the Lord will take away all bitterness from our heart, all pain and sorrow will flee from our life with melodies coming from a clear sky, raining down to our souls.

I sing a song of the saints of God.
Patient and brave and true.
Who toiled and fought,
And lived and died.
For the Lord they loved and knew.
And one was a doctor,
And one was a queen.
They lived not only in ages past,
There are hundreds and thousands still.
The world is bright with the joyous saints.
Who love to do Jesus will.

These saints of the Lord we can meet in school, in lanes for Covid 19, at sea, in trains, at the bus station, in shops or in the streets. For saints of God are people just like us.
Let us then, sing heavenly songs of praise to Jesus. He delights in the praises of His people.

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord. Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us enter into His presence with thanksgiving, let us make a joyful noise to Him in song.
Psalm 95.1,2

It is a song for the chosen ones who have found in Jesus true peace, true joy and true happiness. A thankful heart and a joyful soul will always sing songs of praise to Him. Thine be the glory, Risen conquering Son. Endless is the victory, Thou over death has won. Praise the Lord.

A hymn is a song of praise which is strictly used in Christian worship and is usually sung by the congregation. The Psalmist David instructs us to sing to the Lord. All the earth should bless His name and tell of His salvation. (96 v 2). The Holy Bible contains over 400 references to singing and 50 direct command to sing. In the New Testament we are commanded twice to sing Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to one another when we meet. Col.3:16.
After the crossing of the Red Sea in safely Miriam and the other women celebrated the destruction of the Egyptian Army and looked to the future conquest of Canaan.
On the eve of the Crucifixion Jesus sang hymns with His disciples. Matt.26:30. The lyrics of our songs should reflect a broad theme of scripture. Songs serve as a significant complement to preaching and it helps to create an atmosphere of worship, hence the term "praise and worship." In every culture, age and language music speaks to our feelings. This prepares us for worship. Singing is a way of glorifying God and in this way creates an atmosphere of true worship which sometimes just causes us to concentrate on a God we cannot see.
