We come before the Lord with you, lifting up this concern about intentions and mindset. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked—who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9). But the Lord searches the heart and tests the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings (Jeremiah 17:10). We must be vigilant, for the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). His intentions are never for our good, but to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).
We rebuke every lying spirit, every spirit of confusion, and every plan of the enemy to distort your thoughts or plant seeds of doubt, fear, or ungodly desires. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). We declare that your mind is being renewed by the washing of the water of the Word, and that you are being transformed to discern what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).
Father, we ask You to reveal any hidden motives or intentions in this situation that are not aligned with Your will. Search us, O God, and know our hearts; try us and know our thoughts. See if there be any wicked way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24). If there is any offense, bitterness, or unforgiveness in our hearts, expose it and uproot it. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray that You would fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that we may walk worthy of You, Lord, fully pleasing You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10). Give us discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the wisdom to respond with Your truth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of our mouths, but only that which is good for edifying, that it may impart grace to the hearers (Ephesians 4:29).
Lord, we stand on Your promise that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to us (James 1:5). We ask for clarity and purity of intention in every area of our lives. Let our thoughts, words, and actions be pleasing in Your sight. May we seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33).
We also lift up the importance of walking in love and forgiveness. If there has been any misunderstanding or offense, we choose to forgive as You have forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). Let love cover a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8), and may we be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger (James 1:19). Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of deception, manipulation, and fear. We loose the spirit of truth, love, and soundness of mind. We declare that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). Thank You, Lord, for Your protection, Your guidance, and Your peace. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
