WEALTH

Again, So that I am not falsely accused of "casting my pearls," please be advised that you are never under compulsion to read my posts. My contribution to the spreading of God's Word, whether through gospel or prophecy, is intended for receptive ears only.

Indeed, it is written:

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJV)

Keep it in context. Above all else we are first to be rich in the spirit. Certainly, to obtain wealth is a wonderful thing, when done honestly. But, let no one deceive you, we must never prefer wealth or anything else over Christ. At the end of the day, money is still the root of all evil; and, we can only serve one master.

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24 (NLT)

Whenever we disobey Jesus's instructions regarding the least of these, orphans, widows and elders, especially in our quest of monetary gain or any manner of self indulgence, we are giving preference to our own desires (youthful lust, lust of the eye, pride of life).

When the master calls we must be ready and willing to walk away from even everyone and everything (if need be) to answer His beckoned call. We do not seek to hold on to life as we have cultivated it.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 16:25 (KJV)

Stop allowing your false teachers to serve you up their cold, prepackaged, buffet bible; which often contain unnecessary additives that cause you to look down your nose and even turn you back on God's servants, as many did Jesus. The call to serve God, will often be difficult, as it was for Jesus. Yet, Jesus also did the will of the Father; rather than the will of man.

How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. Matthew 7:14 (CSB)
Wherefore, it is also written:
"Choose today whom you will serve."

KEEP IT IN CONTEXT

Just another message from this tree planted in the middle of the garden.

Recommended Reading: 2 Corinthians Chapter 8. Keep it in context. This instructional chapter on wealth is all about a "rich church community" freely giving to "poor believers," expressly, those who are enduring trials.
