We join you in giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for His presence in your lives during this difficult journey, and we lift up your hearts in this time of loss. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Though your loved one has passed from this earth, we know that for those who believe in Jesus Christ, death is not the end—it is the doorway to eternal life with Him. Jesus said, *"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die"* (John 11:25-26). If your loved one knew Christ as her Savior, then she is now in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and suffering, and you will see her again in glory.
Grief is a heavy burden, but we do not grieve as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). The Lord promises to be your strength in weakness, your comfort in sorrow, and your peace in the storm. *"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"* (Matthew 5:4). Lean on Him, for His grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Cling to one another in love, for God has placed you together as a family to support and uplift each other in times like these. *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ"* (Galatians 6:2).
We also rejoice with you in your faith and commitment to bring everything to the Lord in prayer. This is the path of trust and surrender, and it pleases God greatly. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7). Continue to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Let us pray together for you:
Father in Heaven, we lift up this family to You, knowing that You are the God of all comfort and the Father of mercies. Lord, we thank You for the life of their loved one, and we ask that You wrap them in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Comfort them in their sorrow, Lord, and remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted. Strengthen their faith as they walk through this valley, and help them to feel Your presence in tangible ways. Bind them together in love and unity, that they may encourage one another and find solace in Your promises. Give them rest when they are weary, hope when they are discouraged, and joy in the memories of the one they love. We ask that You would provide for every need—emotionally, spiritually, and physically—as only You can. And Lord, we pray that through this trial, their faith would grow deeper, their love for You would grow stronger, and their testimony would shine brightly for Your glory. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Hold fast to the hope you have in Christ, dear ones. He is faithful, and He will see you through. *"The Lord is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me"* (Psalm 23:1-4). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not alone—we are standing with you in prayer, and most importantly, the Lord is holding you in His everlasting arms.
