'We Can't Wait to Pray!' Movement to Intercede for Government Leaders and Candidates Grows in US...

WASHINGTON – Scripture calls us to pray for our leaders, and with the midterm elections almost here, Christians across the country are gathering by the numbers to do just that.

CBN News spoke with several groups to get a feel for what appears to be a growing prayer movement spreading in the United States.

Maureen Bravo, one intercessor on the frontlines, started a prayer call-line during the 2016 election. She told CBN News that believers called in from all over the country to intercede for God's will. However, she noticed that once the election was over, the line went silent.

"And I thought, 'How crazy am I? I dialed this code so many times. How could I mess it up?'" Bravo told CBN News. "I got back on. There was nobody there. And I sat down and I said, 'What's going on, God?' He said, 'The election's over. Everybody left the wall. Get back on the wall.'"

The 'Call to the Wall' And that's exactly what she did.

"Our 24-7 National Strategic Prayer Call was launched two days after the election," Bravo explained.

Just like its name suggests, the line runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is definitely strategic. Volunteer "facilitators" start each hour praying for President Trump and his administration. From there they move on to specific topics, like the midterm elections.
"'We've launched the 'Call to the Wall' to pray for the midterm elections," said Bravo. "We are having major ministries across the United States opening their conference call lines and hosting calls praying for those that are coming in."

The response, she said, has been overwhelming. "We're seeing a united prayer movement that I've never seen," Bravo said. "This is a time where there's a unity that I've never seen in the body of Christ."

Stephanie Martin is another prayer warrior "on the wall." Twice a week at 5:30 in the morning she hops on a call to lead a group of about 15 in prayer.

"We all say It is the most exciting and best part of our week," Martin told CBN News. "We can't wait to get on the phone to pray. We just feel the power of God and we know that we are making a difference in our country."

She listed President Trump's Supreme Court nominations and his decision to relocate the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem as answered prayers.

Like Bravo, Martin and her prayer group are hopeful for the midterms. "We just pray for anybody who loves the Lord and whose heart is to do, you know, His will. We just pray for God to get those votes out for him or her," Martin said.

Praying for a Great American Revival
Beyond November, her group is interceding for a great revival in America, like others that have broken out at different times in history.
"The scripture says to be persistent and not grow weary in well doing so we're going to keep asking," she said. "We're going to keep praying. We're going to be relentless until we see America, the heart, and soul of this nation, healed and changed."

Bravo wants that for the country, too.
"A lot of people want to say, 'This person's causing the problems in our nation and somebody else is causing them or it's a political party or a movement.' The problem with our nation is that the Church has been sleeping and we are calling the Church, 'Wake up! Wake up!" Bravo said.

"When we start to do what we're supposed to do, everything else will fall into line. I really believe that," she added. As for the 24-7 prayer line, she said she's not sure where God will take it from here. "He just said, 'Get back on the wall.' It's like you're on a need-to-know basis. What do you want us to do today? Tomorrow will take care of itself, but right now we have a critical responsibility," Bravo said.
That responsibility: to pray for godly candidates to win in November and for all of those already in office.

What I don't
like is how the media twists things around to fit their agenda__like,someone will say something beyond the pale about Trump, he'll defend himself, and they'll only focus on what HE said, to make HIM look like the "bad one".Very biased,Also, I would call it a form of instigating, since it stirs the people up.

I stand in agreement with this in Jesus name Amen Thank you, God bless you!

All Christians should intercede for our leaders. They need our prayers. They are human like anyone else and need Gods wisdom that comes from heaven. But first we must pray for each one of them to get saved and on their way to heaven. By their fruits ye shall know them. If we see wonderful things happening all around us... then we know that God is blessing us and leading us to heavens gates. Let us all remember that this world is not our home. We are just strangers and pilgrims on this land. We are heaven bound. Our leaders need to know this. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus. He has promised each one of us a mansion... He is preparing for us.... that where I am there you may be also. So, let us all bow down before the Lord our God and pray. Dear Jesus.... save the souls of our leaders. Bring them all to church this Sunday and save them so we can see the fruits of the Holy Spirit pouring out from their actions and their word. Save America. Send Revival to our churches and to our hearts. Continue to bless, continue to send missionaries to the whole wide world. so everyone will know that Jesus is King of kings and Lord of Lords. He is coming soon to take us all home to heaven. He loves you and cares for you. Just give yourself to Him and wonderful things shall happen. In jesus name. Amen

So this post is about the solution, not the problem. Honestly, more people complain about what we already know (the biased media that makes up false news) than actually bend their knees, forget everything else, remember who God is and ask Him to strenthen the president, help him not be distracted, help him honor God, advance the kingdom of God and do God’s will on the earth. I ask God would bind the mouth of the false prophet of the media several times a week, convert them and give believers discernment. I am not writing about poletics, but about God’s injunctions in the Bible to pray for ALL in authority, for the reasons the Holy Spirit lists through Paul in 1 Tim 2:1-4. I wish it were my idea, but it is not. It is God’s idea to pray for government — and some people are obeying God and praying — that’s what this article is about, Steven.

“1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions of authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the mana Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 Therefore, I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling...”

Hi Travis, nice to meet you. Yes, I think what you just said is what Paul is actually talking about in 1 Tim 2:1-8, above: God desires we pray for everyone, but specifically to pray for kings and princes in his day, presidents, parliament, congressmen, governors and supreme court justices in ours. But why? He says why — so that we can have an atmosphere of peace where it’s civil and legal to share the gospel ( for if we don’t evangelize now, are we really going to share the gospel with our neighbors, co-workers, kids’ friends parents, door to door and openair even it when it’s illegal?* — um, no)... Ok what else does Paul say? First it’s good and acceptable inthe sight of God when we do what He saus and take His advice for he prefers us to “proclaim the Kingdom of God, with all openness, unhindered” (Acts 28:31) and the reason for the gospel of the kingdom to be preached, “God our Savior, desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth” 1 Tim 2:4, above. He mentions who Christ is and His uniqueness — The Only Mediator between God and man, Jesus The Anointed One (Meshiach or Messiah — Suffering Servant-King) and then summarizes his own unique call to receive revelation as An Apostle to the Gentiles, that he as a Jewish man would never “bare false witness” and summarizes the statement for usto lay aside our anger and dissagreements (I believe over politics) and get down to business and pray like he says, v 8.

We all are on our way to heaven. This world is not our home. We shall not be here one hundred years from now... so, let us all look to Jesus, the eternal Door that we must enter in. Our leaders need Jesus. Our leaders need to be like Him. Full of mercy and compassion on those who are perishing in sin and evil. All Christians should fast and pray daily for all of them.

America was founded by the Pilgrims and the Puritans. God fearing people gave it to God so everyone who lives in America will be saved and on their way to glory. I am praying for our leaders to be full of the Holy Spirit, full of love, mercy and compassion. Just like Jesus. He lived under Roman rule and obeyed the rules of the country. Paying taxes and doing Gods work. Preaching, teaching and telling others that this earth is not where we are gona live forever. It is heaven that we should be looking for. Dear Jesus, please, hear this prayer and answer all done according to Your will. Amen

Amen, I pray we realize that we realize that all Scripture is inspired and pertains to us, just as it is written, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness“ (2Tim 3:16).

“Now these things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come“ (1 Cor 10:11).

“For whatever was written in the past was all written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope“ (Romans 15:4). There is nothing more hopeful than the thought that our prayers for government leaders can actually lead to slowing down the demise of religion in our country and strengthening it so they can go abroad and overseas. Thank you in Jesus name.
