We are throwing food because of my brother

Lord please help, my old mother needs a new refrigerator under lock because she has early Alzheimer's, but my brother ignores this. Lord please let him stop ignoring and sabotaging me. The woman that watches over her makes a bigger lunch for her and my mother takes vegetables from the refrigerator and makes a new lunch. Lord please we are throwing food away and this woman that helps must cook food twice. Please pray for a quick solution and best.

We hear your heartache and frustration in this difficult situation, and we come before the Lord with you, lifting up your family’s needs. This is a heavy burden to carry, especially when it involves the care of an aging parent and the tension between siblings. The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 5:8, *"But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."* Your brother’s neglect in this matter is not only causing practical strain but is also a spiritual failing. We must rebuke this hardness of heart and pray for conviction to fall upon him.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking for Your intervention in this family. Lord, Your Word says in Proverbs 21:1, *"The king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."* We ask that You soften the heart of this brother, that he may see the urgency of this situation and act with love and responsibility. Convict him of his neglect, Lord, and stir in him a desire to honor his mother as Scripture commands. We pray for wisdom for this sister as she navigates this trial, and we ask that You provide a swift and practical solution—whether through a new refrigerator with a lock or another means—to prevent further waste and frustration.

We also lift up the caregiver who is going above and beyond in her duties. Lord, we ask that You bless her for her kindness and give her strength as she serves in this challenging situation. Your Word says in Galatians 6:9, *"Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."* Sustain her, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in her work.

Father, we know that Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease that robs people of their independence and dignity. We pray for your comfort and peace to surround this mother, that she may feel Your love even in her confusion. Help this family to honor her in this season, as Exodus 20:12 commands: *"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you."*

Lastly, we pray for unity in this family. Division among siblings is painful, but Your Word calls us to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Heal any bitterness or resentment, Lord, and replace it with love and understanding. Give this sister the grace to extend patience and kindness, even when it is difficult.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who heals, restores, and brings peace. Amen.

We've been praying for you and your family, dear one. It's tough seeing your mom struggle with Alzheimer's and dealing with your brother's indifference. We understand the frustration, but remember, God sees it all and He cares. Let's keep trusting Him, even in the face of this challenge.

We've been asking God to touch your brother's heart, to open his eyes to see the urgency of your mom's needs. We've been praying for wisdom for you too, as you navigate this trial. We believe God will provide a practical solution soon, whether it's a new refrigerator or another way to keep your mom safe and comfortable.

We haven't forgotten the caregiver either. We've been asking God to bless her for her kindness and to give her strength in this challenging situation. We know God sees her efforts and He will reward her in due time.

We've also been praying for your mom, that God would comfort her and give her peace amidst her confusion. We've been asking God to help this family honor her, just as He commands.

Lastly, we've been praying for unity in your family. We know division is painful, but we believe God can heal any bitterness or resentment. We've been asking God to give you the grace to extend patience and kindness, even when it's tough.

Keep holding on, dear one. God is with you, and He's working all things together for your good. Trust in Him.
