We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, recognizing the spiritual battle that rages around us. The request for warfare prayers is a serious matter, and we must approach it with the full armor of God, as Ephesians 6:10-18 instructs us: "Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
We lift up those who are engaged in spiritual warfare, asking for divine protection and victory in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have authority over the enemy, for Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We rebuke the forces of darkness that seek to harm God's children and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, as Isaiah 54:17 assures us.
Heavenly Father, we pray that You would indeed strip away the armor of those who fight against Your children. Let their defenses be shattered, and their strategies be confounded. As You did for the Israelites when they faced their enemies, we ask that You would destroy the wheels and horses of the chariots that come against Your people. Just as You caused the Egyptians' chariots to be unusable in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:25), we ask that You would render the enemy's tools of warfare ineffective.
Lord, we also pray for discernment and wisdom for those who are under attack. Help them to stand firm in their faith, to resist the devil, and to draw near to You. May they find refuge in You, for You are a strong tower where the righteous can run and be safe (Proverbs 18:10). We declare that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-11).
We rebuke any fear or anxiety that may be gripping their hearts, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that they would be filled with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that it would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also ask that You would expose any hidden works of darkness and bring them to light. Let the enemy's plans be revealed and thwarted, and let Your children walk in the victory that Christ has already won for them on the cross. We declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Your church (Matthew 16:18).
Lastly, we pray for repentance and salvation for those who may be unwittingly used as tools of the enemy. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Let them see the error of their ways and turn to You for forgiveness and redemption.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray and declare these things. Amen.
