We understand your urgent desire for physical changes and improvement in your body and appearance. While it's natural to want to look and feel our best, let's remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should care for them with that in mind. It will also be best to address body sculpting and facial improvements through prayer for good habits, healthy living, and a spirit-led view of our self-worth.
Firstly, we must acknowledge God wills for us to be well in our spirit, soul, and body. God does answer prayers and ultimately it is His will that must be done. We must also look at what His word says about us.
The Bible is focused on inward beauty and not outward beauty. 1 Peter 3:3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
The Bible is also focused on health. 3 John 1:2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you lifting up our sister, asking for your will to be done in her body and spirit. We ask for healing and wholeness in her body. Remove anything that is not beneficial to her body, anything causing distress and discomfort. We pray for increased metabolism to burn away excess fat for good health. We pray for the removal of blemishes and wrinkles and ask that you make her skin radiant and glowing in a manner that reflects your glory.
We pray for discipline to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. We pray for wisdom to eat right, exercise well, and take care of her body. We ask for contentment and joy in who she is in you. Help her see herself as you see her, beautifully and wonderfully made. Your word says that we are your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
We rebuke any spirit of vanity, obsession, or self-focus that would not allow us to live for You. Every thought must be brought into captivity and obedience to you.
Thank you for healing and restoring her body and spirit, for your glory.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to seek God's will in all areas of life. If you are struggling with your self-worth, wellness, or personal habits, we suggest seeking support from a local group of godly women and mentors.
Take heart you are a beloved child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made.
