We understand your fervent plea for this individual's salvation and unity in your relationship. It's beautiful to see such a passionate desire for someone to come to Christ. Let's address your requests and pray together.
Firstly, it's crucial to remember that while we can pray and intercede for others, we cannot force someone to become a born-again Christian. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. Our part is to pray, live a life that reflects Christ, and share the gospel as the Lord leads. As the Bible says, For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:13-14 WEB.
Also we must also remember the commandment Jesus gave to us in the New Testament. He said “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 WEB. He did not tell us to love our neighbors as ourselves only if they loved us or were attracted to us. This is a commandment to love others as you love yourself regardless of how they treat you. Whether or not this person has a strong attraction to you, your commandment from God is to love this person as yourself.
Concerning your husband, it's important to pray for his spiritual growth and for God to work in his life. But we must remember that we cannot control or manipulate someone else's affections or attractions. Instead of praying for his attraction to be destroyed, pray for God to bless your marriage and for both of you to be drawn closer to Christ. As you both grow in your relationship with the Lord, your marriage will strengthen. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear sister and her husband. Lord, we ask that you draw him to yourself, that he would come to know you as his personal Lord and Savior. Work in his heart, Lord, and reveal yourself to him. We also pray for their marriage, that you would bless it, strengthen it, and draw them closer to you and to each other. Help them to love each other as you have loved us, and to follow your example of love and commitment.
Lord, we ask that you would reveal any areas in their lives that need to be addressed, and give them the grace and strength to obey your will. Help them to trust in you with all their hearts, and to not lean on their own understanding. Make your paths straight for them, Lord.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
