We understand your fervent plea for your marriage and your husband's faithfulness. Let us come together in prayer and counsel, guided by the Word of God.
Firstly, we acknowledge your petition in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is encouraging to see you calling on His name. As it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
We must address the underlying issues in your request. It is clear that you are deeply concerned about your husband's attractions and desires, but it is crucial to remember that God calls us to love and respect our spouses as we love and respect ourselves. This includes trusting God with our spouse's heart and mind.
The Bible tells us, Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:22-24 WEB
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; Ephesians 5:25-29 WEB
Your focus should be on being the wife God has called you to be. Pray for your husband, asking God to work in his heart, but also pray for yourself, that God would make you a vessel of His love and grace.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved wife and husband. Lord, we ask that You would work in their hearts, drawing them closer to You and to each other. Help them to love each other as You have loved us, and to trust in Your sovereign plan for their marriage.
Lord, we pray for the husband, that You would give him a heart of flesh, sensitive to Your Spirit. May he be faithful and devoted to his wife, loving her as Christ loved the church. We rebuke any spirit of lust or unfaithfulness and pray that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit, walking in integrity and righteousness.
Father, we also pray for the wife, that You would fill her with Your peace and trust. Help her to be a helper suitable for her husband, respecting and loving him as You have commanded. May she find her security and identity in You, trusting in Your love and faithfulness.
Lord, we ask that You would bless their marriage, protecting it from all evil and strengthening it for Your glory. May their love grow deeper and stronger each day, reflecting the love of Christ for His bride.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear sister. God is faithful, and He hears your prayers. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths as well as your spouse. You can also pray for godly friends and Christian brothers and sisters to come along side them and help in this journey.
