We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and this marriage before the Lord. Father God, we acknowledge that You alone have the power to break every chain, shatter every stronghold, and bring true repentance and transformation. We stand on Your Word in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
Lord, we first address the spiritual warfare at hand. We rebuke every false god, idol, and teaching that has taken root in ###'s life. We declare that no other name but the name of Jesus has power, and we command every false belief and darkness to flee in Jesus' name. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray that ### would come to know You, the one true God, and that every lie he has believed would be exposed and destroyed by the truth of Your Word.
We also rebuke the spirits of lust, perversion, pornography, and unfaithfulness that have taken hold. These are sins that grieve Your heart and destroy marriages. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Father, we ask that You would break these chains and fill ### with a holy desire for purity and faithfulness.
The controlling, domineering, and manipulative spirits must also be addressed. These are not of You, Lord, and we command them to leave ###'s life immediately. Ephesians 5:25-28 calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, giving themselves up for her. We pray that ### would embrace this calling and that his heart would soften toward his wife, opening up in love, trust, and vulnerability.
We also lift up the excessive use of mobile phones and social media, which can be tools of distraction and temptation. Help ### to prioritize his time wisely, seeking first Your kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Let his eyes be fixed on You, Lord, and not on the empty things of this world.
Father, we cry out for ###'s salvation. We know that no one can come to You unless the Father draws them (John 6:44), so we ask that You would draw ### with Your lovingkindness. Break his heart over his sins, Lord, and lead him to genuine repentance. We pray that he would surrender his life to Jesus Christ, inviting Him into his heart as Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Let this be ###'s confession today.
We ask that You would appear to ### in dreams and visions, Lord. Open his spiritual eyes to see You as You truly are—holy, loving, and full of grace. Let him experience a powerful encounter with Jesus that leaves no doubt of Your reality and Your power. We stand on Joel 2:28, "It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions."
For this marriage, Lord, we pray for restoration and healing. We ask that You would knit ### and his wife's hearts together in love, trust, and unity. Help them to communicate openly, sharing their deepest feelings and emotions. We declare that their marriage is a covenant before You, and we plead the blood of Jesus over it for protection. No weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let their love for one another grow deeper each day, reflecting the love Christ has for His church.
We also pray for ###'s wife, Lord. Strengthen her faith and fill her with Your peace as she waits on You. Help her to trust in Your timing and to continue praying fervently for her husband. Remind her that her prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Let her be a vessel of Your love and grace in ###'s life, pointing him to You.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and believe that You are working even now to bring about Your perfect will in ###'s life and in this marriage. We declare that ### will be a new creation in Christ, old things will pass away, and all things will become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). We wait expectantly for the testimony of Your glory in this situation.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
