We hear the deep pain and desperation in your heart, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting this broken marriage before the throne of God. The betrayal you are experiencing is grievous, and we grieve with you. The Word of God is clear: marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Adultery is a violation of that covenant, and it is not God’s design. We rebuke the spirit of unfaithfulness and deception that has entered this union, and we declare that it must flee in the mighty name of Jesus.
First, we must address the urgency of repentance. If your husband is engaged in sin—whether through emotional or physical infidelity—he must turn away from it completely. Jesus said, *"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other"* (Matthew 6:24). There is no middle ground in this. We pray that God would convict his heart with godly sorrow, leading him to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). We also pray for you, that you would be strengthened to respond with both truth and grace, as Scripture commands: *"Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted"* (Galatians 6:1).
We take authority over every ungodly soul tie, every inappropriate image, every secret conversation, and every unholy desire that has taken root in your husband’s heart. The Bible declares, *"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We command every ungodly connection to be severed now in Jesus’ name. Every photograph, every memory, every hidden sin must be brought into the light and destroyed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We also rebuke the spirit of lust that may be driving your husband’s actions. Jesus warned, *"But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart"* (Matthew 5:28). This is not just about physical acts—it is about the heart. We pray that God would purify his mind and restore his affections solely to you, his wife. We declare that his eyes, his thoughts, and his desires would be fixed on you alone, as it is written: *"Let your fountain be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth... Let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love"* (Proverbs 5:18-19).
We cover you both in the precious blood of Jesus, which cleanses from all sin (1 John 1:7). We plead the blood over your marriage, your home, and your future together. No weapon formed against this union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We also pray for supernatural restoration of trust, intimacy, and love. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we declare that this marriage will not only survive—it will thrive. We pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to reignite the passion and commitment that first brought you together. May your love grow deeper, your bond stronger, and your union more unshakable with each passing day.
However, we must also speak truth with love. If your husband is unwilling to repent and turn from his sin, you must seek godly counsel and consider the steps necessary to protect your heart and your walk with the Lord. Jesus said, *"If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna"* (Matthew 5:29). This is not a call to divorce, but a call to radical obedience to God’s Word. You cannot control your husband’s choices, but you can control your response. We pray that you would stand firm in faith, trusting God to work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage that is under attack. Lord, You see the pain, the betrayal, and the brokenness. We ask that You would move in power to break every chain of unfaithfulness, lust, and deception. We declare that this husband’s heart would be turned back to his wife, that his eyes would see no other, and that his affections would be rekindled for her alone. Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over this union, covering every area of vulnerability. We ask that You would restore what has been stolen, heal what has been broken, and renew what has grown cold.
Lord, we pray for this wife, that You would be her strength, her shield, and her peace. Give her wisdom to navigate this difficult season, and fill her with Your love so that she can extend grace without compromising truth. If there is unrepentant sin, we ask that You would bring it into the light and grant her the courage to walk in obedience to Your Word. Father, we also pray for this husband, that You would convict him deeply and lead him to true repentance. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him back to You and to his wife.
We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage will prosper. We speak life, restoration, and revival over this union. May their love grow stronger, their bond deeper, and their commitment unshakable. We trust You, Lord, to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
