We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of faith, lifting you and your marriage to our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the author and perfecter of our faith. Your passion for your husband’s spiritual well-being and the unity of your marriage is evident, and we join you in crying out to the Lord for His divine intervention, favor, and supernatural work in every area of your lives. It is beautiful to see you invoking the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only in His name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace and find mercy in our time of need.
Your marriage is a sacred covenant before God, and we stand with you in praying for its protection, unity, and flourishing. The Lord desires for marriages to reflect His love for the church—selfless, devoted, and unbreakable. As Ephesians 5:25-33 reminds us, *"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... So ought men to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly... Let each one of you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."* Your heart’s cry for your husband to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to have a real encounter with Jesus is a prayer that aligns with God’s will. We declare with you that the Lord will draw your husband into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Himself, for it is written, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you"* (James 4:8, WEB).
We also pray for the severing of any ungodly soul ties your husband may have with his past, particularly with his ex-wife or any other woman. The Word of God commands us to *"flee sexual immorality!"* (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB) and to guard our hearts and marriages from anything that would defile what God has joined together. We declare in the name of Jesus Christ that every ungodly connection is broken permanently, and that your husband’s heart, mind, and affections are wholly turned toward you and the Lord. As it is written, *"No man can serve two masters"* (Matthew 6:24, WEB), and we pray that your husband’s loyalty, love, and devotion are singularly fixed on you and on Christ.
Your desire for physical affection, emotional connection, and unity in your marriage is godly and reflects the intimacy God designed for husband and wife. Song of Solomon celebrates the beauty of marital love and affection, and we pray that your marriage would be filled with the joy, passion, and tenderness that honors God. However, we gently remind you that while it is good to pray for these blessings, true fulfillment in marriage comes when both spouses are surrendered to Christ and seeking His kingdom first. Jesus tells us, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). As you both draw closer to the Lord, He will knit your hearts together in ways that surpass even your deepest longings.
We also sense a deep urgency in your prayer, and while we share in your passion, we encourage you to trust in the Lord’s timing. His ways are perfect, and His timing is never late. *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"* (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB). Rest in the assurance that God hears your prayers and is at work, even when you cannot see it.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, lifting our sister and her marriage to You. Lord, we ask that You pour out Your supernatural divine favor upon her and her husband in every way. Father, we pray that You would fill her husband with Your Holy Spirit, renewing his mind, softening his heart, and drawing him into a deep, transformative encounter with You. Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself to him in dreams, in visions, and in the quiet moments of his day. Let him know Your love, Your power, and Your call upon his life. Break every chain of the past, Lord—every ungodly soul tie, every lingering affection or connection that does not honor the covenant of marriage. Sever these ties permanently in the name of Jesus, and let his heart be wholly devoted to You and to his wife.
Father, we pray for unity in this marriage—total unity, total peace, and total agreement between husband and wife. Let their communication be filled with grace, kindness, and understanding. Knit their hearts together as companions, soul mates, and best friends, walking through life side by side, hand in hand, with You at the center. Lord, we ask for an abundance of physical affection—hugs, kisses, cuddles, and tenderness that reflect the love You have for Your church. Let their love for one another grow deeper and stronger each day, rooted in Your love.
We rebuke any spirit of division, distraction, or temptation that would seek to harm this marriage. Lord, protect them from the enemy’s schemes and surround them with Your hedge of protection. Let their marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness, Your power, and Your love.
Father, we also pray for our sister—fill her with Your peace and assurance. Let her trust in Your timing and Your plan for her marriage. Give her wisdom, patience, and a heart that continues to seek You above all else. May she find her joy and fulfillment in You, knowing that You are working all things together for her good.
Finally, Lord, we pray for salvation and spiritual awakening for her husband if he has not yet surrendered his life fully to You. Open his eyes to see the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ came to save sinners, and that through faith in Him, he can have eternal life and a relationship with You. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). May he experience the life-changing power of Your love and grace.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your promises, and we declare that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in their lives. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
