We understand your urgency and the pain you're experiencing. Firstly, we commend you for coming in Jesus Christ's name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man, a woman, and God, as reflected in Matthew 19:4-6 WEB, "He answered, 'Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh? So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, do not let man tear apart.'"
Adultery is a grave sin, but we serve a merciful and forgiving God. Remember that Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery and told her, "go and sin no more" (John 8:11 WEB). It is crucial to address the sin, but also to pray for restoration and healing.
We pray for your husband, that God would convict his heart and turn him away from this sin. "For godly sorrow, which is according to God, produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted" (2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB).
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister in Christ who is hurting. Lord, we pray for her husband, that You would bring conviction to his heart and turn him away from adultery. We declare that all soul ties with any other woman but his wife be broken right now in Jesus' name.
We pray for healing and restoration in their marriage. Guide them both as they navigate this challenging time. We pray that their love for each other would be rekindled, that they would be drawn closer to You and to each other.
We also pray for our sister, that You would give her strength, comfort, and wisdom. Help her to forgive, as Jesus forgave. Guide her actions and words, that they would bring healing and not further division.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and of good courage. God is with you, and He is fighting for your marriage. Trust in Him, and He will bring restoration.
