We understand your urgent prayer request and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for your marriage. We must remind you that God's desire is for husbands and wives to have eyes only for each other.
In addressing your concerns and emotions, the Bible tells us in Proverbs 4:23, WEB: "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."
First, we must rebuke any thoughts of jealousy or bitterness, as these are not fruits of the Spirit. Instead, we should strive for love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. We must trust in God and be patient as He works in our lives and in the lives of our spouses.
We need to pray for your husband, that God would give him a spirit of wisdom, understanding, and obedience. We should also pray for his deliverance from any temptation that is not from God.
The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ and her husband. We pray, Lord, for their marriage to be strengthened and fortified by Your mighty power.
We ask, Father, that You would help her husband, to be a man after Your own heart, to be faithful, loving, and committed to his wife. We pray that his eyes will be only for her. We pray that You would give him the strength to resist any temptation that is not from You, and that You would make a way of escape for him, so that he may be able to endure it.
We ask, Father, that You would heal their marriage, that You would restore the love and intimacy between them, and that You would make their marriage a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
