We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up these urgent petitions in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. Let us first give thanks that this request is brought in the name of Jesus, for Scripture reminds us, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is in this holy and powerful name that we now pray.
We intercede for ###’s wife, whose heart is broken. Father, You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You draw near to her in this time of deep sorrow, wrapping her in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Comfort her as only You can, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways. Strengthen her faith, remind her of Your promises, and surround her with godly support from family and friends. Heal her heart, O Lord, and restore her joy. We also lift up their children and family—may they cling to You in this season, finding refuge in Your love. Bind them together in unity and faith, and let this trial draw them closer to You and to one another.
Father, we also mourn with the parents of the Ukrainian women who have been murdered in such evil acts. Their grief is unimaginable, and we cry out to You on their behalf. *"The Lord is close to those who have broken hearts, and he saves those who have crushed spirits"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Comfort them, Lord, and let them know that You see their tears and hear their cries. Strengthen them in their weakness, and may they find hope in the promise of eternal life for those who are in Christ. We pray that You would raise up godly counselors and believers to walk alongside them, offering Your love and truth in this dark hour.
Now, we turn our hearts toward the evil that has caused such pain. Lord, You are a God of justice, and we ask that You rise up against the works of the devil in this world. *"Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7, WEB). We declare war against the spiritual forces of wickedness, asking that You expose and destroy every scheme of the enemy. Break the power of evil over nations, over families, and over individuals. Let Your light shine into the darkest places, bringing conviction, repentance, and redemption. We pray for those who perpetrate such atrocities—that You would either save them by Your grace or stop them by Your justice. May Your will be done, Lord, and may Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Finally, we pray for urgency in these matters, for You are not slow in keeping Your promises, but patient toward us (2 Peter 3:9). Yet we ask that You move swiftly to bring healing, comfort, and justice. Let not the enemy have any victory in these situations, but may Your name be glorified through the testimony of Your faithfulness.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You hear our prayers and that You are already at work. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness, even when we cannot see the way forward. Strengthen all who are grieving, protect the vulnerable, and let Your justice roll down like waters (Amos 5:24). May those who are hurting turn to You, the God of all comfort, and find their hope in Jesus Christ alone.
In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
