We hear the many burdens you have brought before the Lord and we join with you in seeking His will together in Jesus' name. We lift up each of these needs to our Father who hears and who desires to set us free and make us whole.
We pray first for your freedom from sexual addiction and maladaptive daydreaming. We understand you speak of reasons why you struggle, and we have compassion for the pain and trauma that often lies beneath these patterns, yet we also know that God calls us to flee from sexual immorality and to find our refuge in Him alone. The Word says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 and also Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16. Sexual addiction is not simply a habit but sin that needs repentance, cleansing and the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. We also pray for your thought life, for maladaptive daydreaming can be a form of escape and an undisciplined mind that needs to be brought under Christ. We are called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2. We pray that God would heal the deep wounds that have driven you to these escapes, that He would give you strength to set firm boundaries, to seek godly accountability, to fill your mind with Scripture, and to walk in purity. We ask the Lord to replace fantasy and lust with His truth and His presence.
We join you in praying for the African American community. We pray that God would set His people free from false teachings and that He would raise up faithful teachers who preach Christ crucified and not a distorted gospel. Jesus warned Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15. We pray that wolves would be exposed and removed and no longer able to lead people astray or harm them, and that God would raise up shepherds after His own heart according to Ephesians 4:11 who will equip the saints for the work of service. We pray also for healing and protection from racism and hatred. We know that hatred directed toward any people is evil in God’s sight, for there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28. We pray for your protection and for healing from the wounds this hatred has caused, and we pray that you would be kept from bitterness, looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you. Hebrews 12:15. Vengeance belongs to the Lord as it is written Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19, and we trust Him to be your defender while we also pray you can love those who oppose you as Christ commands.
We bring before the Lord your business and your need for funds and for hurdles to be overcome. We pray that God would provide for you according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19, and that He would guide your steps. A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9. We pray not only for financial provision but for wisdom, diligence and integrity in your work, that your business would honor God and serve others, and that you would trust Him whether He provides abundantly or calls you to wait. We pray that the obstacles you face would be removed if it is His will, and that you would have peace about the matter you need to attend to tomorrow, whether it is rescheduled or not, resting in His sovereignty.
We pray for an end to the demonic harassment you have endured for years. We know our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. We pray that you would be strengthened to Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 and to Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who has all authority, that every harassing spirit would be rebuked and that you would walk in the protection and peace of Christ, filling your home and mind with prayer, the Word and worship.
We lift up your physical suffering with your menstrual condition that makes your cycles worse physically and mentally. The Lord sees your pain and we ask for His healing touch. He heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3. We pray for relief for you right now, for strength and peace in this difficult time, and for healing for all women who suffer in this way and for a cure according to His mercy. We pray also for your family to be delivered from occult involvement. God clearly forbids such practices as it is written There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer. Deuteronomy 18:10. We pray that every tie to the occult would be renounced and broken in Jesus’ name, that your family would turn fully to Christ and be cleansed and set free.
We pray for your ex as you have asked. We pray for his salvation, for his health in the midst of serious and life threatening problems, and for his healing from trauma and emotional and behavioral issues. We pray that God in His mercy would give him a wake up call to see his need for Christ and to turn from dysfunctional ways, for The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. We pray also for his loved ones for their salvation and wellbeing. And we pray for you as you love him but know you cannot be together. We affirm that this discernment is wise and we encourage you to maintain godly boundaries. Scripture teaches Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14 and that courtship should be with the goal of marriage between a man and a woman who are both believers in Christ, pursuing purity and not fornication. If he is not walking with Christ, it is right not to be together, and we pray God would guard your heart from returning to a relationship outside His will, heal your heart from this love that cannot be fulfilled in marriage, and in time, if it is His will, lead you to a godly spouse who will honor Him with you. We pray you would find your completeness in Christ while you wait.
Father, we bring all these requests before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and hope. We ask for freedom, for truth to prevail, for provision, for protection, for healing, for deliverance, for salvation for those who do not yet know You, and for Your perfect will to be done in that matter tomorrow. Cleanse us, renew our minds, clothe us in Your armor, and lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. We trust Your goodness and Your power to answer according to Your perfect wisdom and love. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
