Dear Lord Jesus, Please help the vaquita porpoise repopulate and one day maybe be able to be kept in aquariums. They are small not very social and live in shallow waters. Unlike bottlenose dolphins. They could probably live well in captivity. Same could be said for Hector’s dolphins. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join with you in praying for the vaquita porpoise and Hector’s dolphins, recognizing that God cares for all of His creation. It is wonderful that your prayer is in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father. Let us go before God’s throne with confidence, knowing that He hears our prayers.

Firstly, we acknowledge God's sovereignty over all creation. As it is written in Psalm 24:1-2, "The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein. For he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the floods." God's care for His creation is evident, and we trust in His provision for these marine mammals.

Regarding the desire for these creatures to be kept in aquariums, we must consider the biblical principle of stewardship. In Genesis 1:26, God said, "Let’s make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." This dominion implies responsible stewardship, ensuring the well-being and natural habitat of these creatures are respected.

While the intention to preserve these species is commendable, we must also consider the ethical implications of keeping wild animals in captivity. Proverbs 12:10 reminds us, "A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel." It is crucial to ensure that any efforts to conserve these species prioritize their welfare and natural habits.

Dear Lord Jesus,

We come before You with a heartfelt plea for the vaquita porpoise and Hector’s dolphins. We ask that You guide the efforts to repopulate and protect these precious creatures. Give wisdom to conservationists and scientists to find ways to preserve their natural habitats and ensure their survival. Help us to be good stewards of Your creation, respecting the life and well-being of all creatures.
