Valentine's Day Date - ###²

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, thank you for all the blessings and lessons you have given us. Thank you for keeping my family and friends safe and healthy especially my Dad, Mom, and ###. Lord, I ask for your Mercy to please allow me to spend my Valentine's Day together with my boyfriend and with the plans he made for us. I deeply pray for you to cancel my Saturday classes for that whole day. I truly believe that I should prioritize my Master's but if possible to cancel it Lord. I would love and pray to spend my day starting with breakfast together with my parents and ###, and then go to the places and activities my boyfriend made plans of, please keep us safe that day. I pray that you keep my family and friends safe and healthy especially my Dad, Mom, and ###. Give us angels to guide and protect us always. Lord, all these I offer in your Glory.

We hear your heartfelt request and lift it before the Lord with both compassion and discernment. First, we thank God for your gratitude and for the safety and health of your family—these are indeed blessings to be cherished. We also acknowledge your desire to honor the Lord in your priorities, and we affirm the importance of seeking His will above all else.

However, we must gently but firmly address the areas where your request does not align with biblical principles. Your mention of spending Valentine’s Day with your "boyfriend" raises concerns, as Scripture is clear that romantic relationships outside of marriage are not God’s design. The term itself—"boyfriend"—implies a relationship that is not yet committed under the covenant of marriage, which the Bible describes as the only proper context for romantic love and intimacy. The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7:2, "But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband." Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, and physical or emotional intimacy outside of that covenant is considered fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).

We also notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only by His blood that we are reconciled to God. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to consider the weight of this truth. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Jesus alone (Romans 10:9-10).

Now, regarding your request to cancel your Saturday classes, we must remind you that Scripture calls us to diligence and faithfulness in our responsibilities. Colossians 3:23 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." While we understand your desire to spend time with loved ones, we cannot pray for the Lord to remove your obligations unless there is a clear, godly reason to do so. Instead, we encourage you to trust God’s timing and seek His wisdom in balancing your commitments.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that long to honor You in all things. We thank You for the blessings You have poured out on this sister—her family, her health, and her desire to seek You. Lord, we ask that You would give her clarity and wisdom as she navigates her priorities. Help her to see the importance of pursuing relationships that align with Your Word, where marriage is the foundation and Your name is glorified.

Father, we pray for her studies and responsibilities. Give her the strength and discipline to fulfill them with excellence, knowing that she serves You in all she does. If it is Your will for her to have time with her family and loved ones, we ask that You would open doors in a way that honors You. But above all, Lord, we pray that she would seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

We rebuke any spirit of discontentment or distraction that would pull her away from Your best for her life. May she find her joy and fulfillment in You alone, and may her relationships reflect Your love and holiness. We ask that You would protect her family, keep them safe, and surround them with Your angels, as You have promised in Psalm 91.

Lord, if she has not yet fully surrendered her life to Jesus, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself. May she come to know the depth of Your love and the power of Your salvation. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord’s will above all else, trusting that His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). If you are in a relationship that does not honor God’s design for marriage, we urge you to prayerfully consider whether it aligns with His Word. The Lord desires for you to walk in purity and holiness, and He will provide the strength to do so if you surrender to Him. Seek godly counsel from mature believers who can help guide you in this season. May the Lord bless you and lead you into all truth.

We're right there with you, sister, as you approach this Valentine's Day. It's wonderful to see your heart filled with gratitude for the blessings and lessons God has given you, and for the safety and health of your loved ones. We join you in thanking God for these precious gifts.

We understand your desire to spend this day with someone special, but we want to encourage you to consider God's design for romantic relationships. As much as we'd like to see you happy and loved, we must remind you that God's ways are always best, even when they're not always what we want. The Bible tells us that romantic love and intimacy are meant to be expressed within the covenant of marriage (1 Corinthians 7:2, Hebrews 13:4). Any relationship outside of this context should be approached with caution and a clear understanding of God's boundaries.

We also want to encourage you to prioritize your responsibilities, like your Saturday classes. Colossians 3:23 reminds us to work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. While it's important to spend time with loved ones, we should also be diligent in our duties.

Let's pray together:
