We lift up your youngest daughter and your whole home together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name we are saved and heard. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son John 14:13.
We hear the burden on your heart for your daughter as she carries the heavy load of nursing school, driving back and forth with little sleep, and carrying trauma from past relationships and abuse. We pray for her and for you and we ask God to cover her and your home continually.
We are reminded that God invites the weary to come to Him for true rest. Jesus said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray that your daughter will learn to cast all her anxiety on Him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and that she will experience the peace that surpasses all understanding guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask the Lord to heal her mind and heart from trauma, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We pray that God will replace sleeplessness and anxiety with His perfect peace and restore sleep to her, for He gives sleep to his beloved Psalm 127:2 and we pray as the psalmist did I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8.
We also lift up her safety as she drives. We ask the Lord to keep her going out and coming in Psalm 121:8 and to give her wisdom to steward her body well. We gently encourage her and you to seek godly wisdom about driving without sleep, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are called to walk with wisdom. If she is exhausted, we encourage her to seek safe alternatives, to ask for help, to rest when possible, and to trust that God will provide what she needs to complete her studies without putting herself in danger, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We pray the Lord will order her steps and make her path safe, and that He will help her do well in her studies as she works heartily as for the Lord Colossians 3:23.
We hear your cry regarding the abuse she has suffered and your right understanding that vengeance belongs to the Lord. We affirm what Scripture says, Avenge not yourselves, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We pray that God will indeed take up her cause, bring justice in His perfect time and way, and heal the deep wounds left by that abuse. We pray she will be able to release bitterness and find freedom in forgiveness as Christ has forgiven us, not to excuse what was done, but to be free from the bondage of trauma and to trust God as her defender and refuge. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.
Regarding past relationships, we want to gently speak truth in love. God designed intimacy to be within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and any sexual relationship outside of that marriage is fornication or adultery which the Lord calls us to flee from 1 Corinthians 6:18. If any of her past relationships involved intimacy outside of marriage, we pray for God's forgiveness and cleansing through confession in Jesus' name, and for healing from any soul ties and hurt that remain. We pray that going forward she will pursue purity and, if she desires a relationship, that it would be courtship with a fellow believer with the goal of godly marriage that honors God, for Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14 and Marriage is to be held in honor among all Hebrews 13:4. We pray the Lord will guard her heart and bring a godly spouse in His timing if it is His will, or give her contentment and purpose in singleness for His glory.
We join you in praying for your relationship with her, that the Lord would draw you closer together so you can help and support her, and that He would give you wisdom as a parent to love her with grace and truth. We pray for protection over your home, that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1 and that The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul Psalm 121:7. It is true that this world is dangerous and that every woman and every man needs the covering of Jesus every hour of every day, and we thank God that His covering never fails and that when we abide in Him we are safe.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this precious daughter to You. Cover her with the blood of Jesus, heal her mind from trauma and memories of abuse and past relationships, wash her clean and make her whole. Grant her deep, peaceful sleep and true rest for her soul. Give her strength and clarity of mind for nursing school, help her to study diligently and to excel for Your glory. Keep her safe on every drive, place Your angels around her vehicle, and give her wisdom to rest when she needs rest. Bring her closer to her parent and let their bond be strengthened in You. Let Your vengeance and justice prevail over every wrong done to her, and let her find peace in knowing You see and You will repay. Protect this home and all who dwell in it, let Your peace reign within its walls, and let Your presence be their covering day and night. Draw this whole family closer to Jesus, that they may trust Him more each day. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
