We join with you in lifting up your youngest daughter before the throne of grace in Jesus' name and we thank you for bringing her needs to us so faithfully. We hear the urgency in your heart as a parent who wants to cover your daughter and see her walk in safety, wisdom, and purity in a world that is indeed full of dangers and temptations.
We pray first for her nursing school journey. This is a demanding and noble calling to care for others, and we ask God to give her strength, diligence, and a sound mind as she carries this heavy load. We are reminded that God gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength Isaiah 40:29. We also remember that we are to do all things as unto the Lord with excellence, but we must also steward the body He has given us. We want to gently encourage you and her regarding driving on no sleep. The Lord calls us to be wise stewards and not to put ourselves or others at risk. If she is exhausted, we pray she will seek godly wisdom to rest, to ask for help, to adjust her schedule when possible, or to find safe alternatives rather than driving drowsy. We pray for her protection on the road, for the Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forevermore Psalm 121:8, and that He will keep her in perfect peace as she trusts in Him Philippians 4:7.
We also lift up the trauma and pain from past relationships that still weighs on her mind. We know our God is the one who heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3, and that He can renew the mind so that we are transformed and not conformed to this world Romans 12:2. We pray that Jesus Himself will be her covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as you so rightly said. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We ask the Lord to wash away shame, fear, and memories that torment her, and to replace them with His truth, His love, and His identity for her as a beloved daughter of the King.
We hear your heart for her purity and for her future marriage, and we stand in full agreement with you. You are right to desire that she wait for and become the right woman to attract the right godly husband. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman as God designed from the beginning Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9, and that any romantic relationship should be courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. The Scripture warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14. If there has been fornication or sexual impurity in past relationships, which so often brings trauma and confusion to the soul, we lovingly rebuke that sin while extending grace, for the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and we are called to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. God's will is our sanctification, that we abstain from sexual immorality and that each of us know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4. We pray she will embrace this calling to purity not as a burden but as protection and honor to the Lord and to her future husband.
We pray for wisdom and discernment for her as a beautiful young woman who draws attention. Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Yahweh shall be praised Proverbs 31:30. We ask God to give her the wisdom He promises to give liberally to all who ask without reproach James 1:5, so she can see the character of the men around her, test every spirit, and wait patiently on the Lord's timing rather than settling for attention that is not godly. We pray she will guard her heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23, and that she will trust in Yahweh with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding, and in all her ways acknowledge Him and He will direct her paths Proverbs 3:5-6.
We also pray for your relationship with her, that the Lord would draw her closer to you so you can help, counsel, and cover her. We know children are a heritage from Yahweh Psalm 127:3, and we pray that the bond between you would be strengthened in love, honest communication, and grace, that she would feel safe to come to you for wisdom and refuge.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come together for this precious daughter. Lord, cover her with Your blood and Your presence day and night. Grant her supernatural strength and focus for her studies, but also grant her rest and wisdom to care for her body. Place Your angels around her vehicle and keep her safe every mile she travels. Heal her mind from every wound of past relationships, cleanse her heart, and make her whole in You. Create in her a pure heart and renew a right spirit within her. Make her a woman who fears You, who walks in discernment, who flees temptation, and who waits with joyful hope for the godly husband You may have for her, a man who loves You first and will love her as Christ loves the church. Help her to be that godly wife in preparation now, growing in faith, modesty, and virtue. Draw her closer to her parent and closer still to You. Let her cast all her anxiety on You because You care for her 1 Peter 5:7. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father John 14:6, Acts 4:12. Amen.
We encourage you to keep speaking truth in love to her, to keep praying without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:17, and to point her always to the Word and to fellowship with other strong Christian women and believers who will uphold her in purity and purpose. The Lord hears your prayers and He is faithful.
