We join with you in lifting up your youngest daughter before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find protection, healing and peace. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do John 14:13.
We know the anxiety of a parent watching a child navigate early morning darkness, heavy traffic, road closures in downtown ###, and the demands of nursing school on little sleep. We bring all of this to the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps. We are reminded that Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more Psalm 121:7-8, and He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11. We take comfort that even when roads are closed and the way seems blocked, A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps Proverbs 16:9, and we can Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.
We pray together for her now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this precious daughter to You. Cover her with Your hand as she drives in the dark this morning and as she returns home. Give her alertness and clarity even though she is running on little sleep, keep her eyes sharp, her reflexes quick, and her vehicle safe from harm. Guide her around every closure and delay, make a way where there seems to be no way, and bring her to her classes and clinical duties on time. Grant her wisdom and understanding in her nursing studies, for every good gift comes from You, and If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach James 1:5. Help her to retain what she studies, to have steady hands and a compassionate heart as she learns to care for others, and let her work be done for Your glory. We also ask You to help her steward her body well, for You give sleep to Your beloved Psalm 127:2, and even Jesus invited His disciples to Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile Mark 6:31. Give her opportunities for true rest and refreshment in the days ahead.
We also lift up the deeper healing you have asked for, her mind from trauma and past relationships. We praise You that You are close to the brokenhearted and You heal those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Lord, we ask You to gently heal every wound left by past relationships and any trauma that still weighs on her thoughts. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and grant her Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We pray that You would keep her mind stayed on You, for You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you Isaiah 26:3.
We agree with you that every woman, indeed every one of us, needs the covering of Jesus twenty four hours a day, and we thank You that all who abide in You abide under the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. If any of those past relationships involved intimacy outside of Your design for marriage, we bring that before You as well, asking for Your forgiveness and cleansing, for You have called us to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to honor marriage as Your holy covenant between one man and one woman for life Hebrews 13:4 and Genesis 2:24. Wash her clean by the blood of Jesus, renew her mind, and in Your timing lead her, if it is Your will, into a godly courtship with a believing man who seeks marriage to honor You, that she may know the security and purity of a Christ centered marriage. Make her whole and give her a future hope rooted in You.
We also pray for what is on your heart as her parent, that You would draw her closer to you so you can help and support her, and that You would heal the relationship with her sisters. Lord, knit this family together in love and forgiveness. Help them to be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and to bear with one another and forgive as You forgave us Colossians 3:13. Let no root of bitterness remain, but let reconciliation and tender communication grow. Give this mother wisdom to love without controlling, to speak truth in love, and to be a safe place of counsel and prayer.
We thank You, Father, that You hear us when we pray according to Your will. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us 1 Peter 5:7. Strengthen this mother as she waits and intercedes, and let her daughter feel Your presence with her today on the road, in the classroom, and in her heart. May she know that she is never alone, for You have said I will never leave you, nor forsake you Hebrews 13:5 and Fear not, for I am with you Isaiah 41:10.
We entrust her safety, her studies, her healing, and her family relationships into Your loving hands, trusting that You are working all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
