We hear your urgent cry for your middle daughter’s safety as she spends the night with a friend, and we join you in lifting this concern before the throne of God. First, we must address the mention of Archangel Michael in your request. While angels are indeed God’s servants, Scripture makes it clear that we are to pray to God alone through Jesus Christ, who is our only mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). There is no biblical precedent for praying to angels, and we must be cautious not to elevate them above their rightful place in God’s order. Jesus Christ is the name above every name, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Philippians 2:9-10).
Now, let us come boldly before the Lord in prayer for your daughter’s protection and well-being:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, lifting up this precious young life to You. Lord, You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). We ask that You would surround this daughter with Your holy angels to guard her in all her ways (Psalm 91:11). Protect her from any harm, danger, or evil that may seek to come near her. Keep her safe through the night, Lord, and grant her peace and rest in Your presence.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for her parents. Give them Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) as they trust You with their child. Help them to model a life of faith and dependence on You, so that their daughter may see Your love and protection in their lives. If there is any fear or anxiety in their hearts, we ask that You would replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or worry that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are their shield and defender. We stand on Your promise that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them (Psalm 34:7).
We also ask that You would draw this daughter closer to You. May she come to know You as her Savior if she does not already, and may she grow in her relationship with You if she does. Surround her with godly influences and friendships that will point her to You. Help her parents to guide her in the ways of the Lord, teaching her Your Word and praying for her consistently.
Father, we trust in Your sovereignty and goodness. You know the plans You have for this family—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We surrender this situation into Your hands, knowing that You are faithful to watch over Your children. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying and trusting in the Lord, knowing that He hears your prayers and is working on your behalf. Lean on Him in times of uncertainty, and remember that His Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). If there are any specific concerns about the friend or the environment your daughter is in, we urge you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in addressing those as well. God bless you and your family as you walk in faith.
