We join you in lifting up your youngest daughter to our Heavenly Father, who is the ultimate protector and keeper of our lives. It is wonderful that you have called upon the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace and find mercy in our time of need. As Scripture reminds us, *"I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. Yahweh will preserve your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more"* (Psalm 121:1-8, WEB).
Driving can indeed be dangerous, and the roads are filled with uncertainties, but we serve a God who is sovereign over all things. He holds your daughter’s life in His hands, and we trust Him to surround her with His angels, guiding her steps and protecting her every mile of the journey. *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone"* (Psalm 91:11-12, WEB). Let us also remember that our trust must be placed fully in the Lord, not in our own understanding or fears. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
We encourage you to continue praying over your daughter, covering her in the blood of Jesus and declaring God’s protection over her life. Speak life and safety over her, and remind her to be alert, sober-minded, and cautious as she drives. *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8, WEB). Let her know that while she must drive responsibly, her ultimate trust is in the Lord, who watches over her.
We also urge you to pray that your daughter would walk closely with the Lord, seeking His will in all things. If she does not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we pray that this time of seeking His protection would draw her closer to Him. *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). There is no greater safety than being found in Christ, and we pray that she would surrender her life to Him if she has not already done so.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of trust and gratitude, lifting up this precious daughter to Your care. Lord, You are the God who never slumbers nor sleeps, and we ask that You would watch over her as she travels to and from work. Surround her with Your angels, Lord, and place a hedge of protection around her. Guard her from every danger, seen and unseen, and keep her mind alert and focused on the road. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill her heart as she drives, knowing that You are with her always.
We pray that You would go before her, making her paths straight and removing any obstacles or distractions that could cause harm. Lord, we ask that You would protect her vehicle from mechanical failure and shield her from the recklessness or negligence of others on the road. Cover her in the blood of Jesus, and let no weapon formed against her prosper. We declare that no harm will come near her dwelling—or her car—as she travels, for You, Lord, are her refuge and fortress.
Father, we also pray that this time of seeking Your protection would draw her closer to You. If she does not yet know You as her Lord and Savior, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way. Soften her heart to receive Your love and truth, and lead her to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Let her know that her safety is found in You alone, and that You are faithful to keep those who put their trust in You.
We thank You, Lord, for Your promises are true, and we trust that You will preserve her coming in and going out, from this day forward and forevermore. May Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
