We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle your daughter is facing with addiction. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention and healing for her. Firstly, we acknowledge that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is no other name given by which we can be saved. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Who gave himself as a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:5; 6 WEB).
In moments like these, we remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). Addiction is a spiritual stronghold that can only be broken through the power of Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister's middle daughter who is struggling with addiction. Lord, You see her pain, her struggles, and her need for You. We ask that You stretch out Your hand and heal her from her addiction. Set her free from the chains that bind her, and give her a new life in You.
We pray for her upcoming birthday, Lord. Surround her with Your love, protection, and grace. Comfort her as only You can, and remind her that she is precious in Your sight.
We also pray for our sister, who is hurting for her daughter. Give her peace, Lord, and the assurance that You are at work in her daughter's life. Guide her steps as she supports her daughter through this difficult time.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your daughter and that she may be receptive to God calling her to receive salvation through his son Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is no other name given by which we can be saved. This may be a good time to reiterate this to your daughter. Remind her that the LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Stand firm in your faith, and do not be afraid for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
