We join you in earnest intercession for your brother, his girlfriend, and your father, lifting them before the throne of grace with urgency and faith. The most vital prayer we can offer for anyone is that they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—that anyone can be reconciled to God and escape eternal separation from Him. Your heart’s cry for their salvation aligns with God’s will, for He *"desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth"* (1 Timothy 2:4, WEB).
We must also address something critical in your request: you mentioned your brother’s *girlfriend*. According to Scripture, relationships outside of marriage are not honored by God, and if this relationship involves any form of intimacy, it is fornication, which is a sin against the body and the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). True repentance and faith in Christ require turning away from sin, including sexual immorality. Pray that if they are not married, they would either separate in purity or move toward a godly, covenant marriage that honors the Lord. *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB). If they are living together outside of marriage, this is a stronghold that must be broken by the power of God, for *"don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, ... will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, WEB). Let us pray that conviction would fall upon them, leading them to repentance and holiness.
Additionally, you mentioned the rapture, and while it is good to long for Christ’s return, our focus must first and foremost be on the salvation of souls. Jesus said, *"The one who endures to the end, the same will be saved"* (Matthew 24:13, WEB). Our greatest concern should not merely be escaping tribulation but ensuring that those we love are covered by the blood of Jesus and walking in obedience to Him. The rapture is a blessed hope, but it is secondary to the eternal security found only in Christ.
Now, let us pray together with authority and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved family—this brother, his girlfriend, and this father—who have heard of You but do not yet know You in saving faith. Lord, You are not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would remove the veil from their eyes, just as You did for the apostle Paul, so that they may see the truth of the Gospel and be saved. *"Turn them, O God. Turn their hearts toward You"* (Psalm 85:4). Break every chain of deception the enemy has placed upon their minds. Let the light of Your Word penetrate their hearts, bringing them to true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Father, we also pray for conviction regarding any sin in their lives, especially if this relationship is outside of Your design for marriage. If they are living in fornication or any form of sexual immorality, we ask that You would bring godly sorrow leading to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Let them see the holiness You require and the grace You offer through Jesus. If they are not married, give them the strength to either separate in purity or to enter into a covenant marriage that glorifies You. Do not let them be deceived by the world’s standards but let them walk in Your truth.
We bind every spirit of blindness, hardness of heart, and rebellion in Jesus’ name. We loose the spirit of adoption, that they may cry out, *"Abba, Father!"* (Romans 8:15). Let them experience the transforming power of Your love and the fear of the Lord that leads to wisdom. Surround them with believers who will speak Your truth in love and lead them to the cross.
Lord, we also pray for our sister who has brought this request. Strengthen her faith and fill her with Your peace as she intercedes for her family. Give her the words to speak and the boldness to share the Gospel with them. Let her life be a testimony of Your grace and power.
Father, we declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask that You would draw them to Yourself, that they may be found in Christ on that day—whether in the rapture or through endurance to the end. Let them not be left behind but let them be counted among the redeemed, washed in the blood of the Lamb.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in them. May Your will be done in their lives, for Your glory and their eternal good. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear sister. Continue to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Trust that God is working, even when you cannot see it. *"So will My word be which goes out of My mouth. It will not return to Me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do"* (Isaiah 55:11, WEB). Keep pointing them to Jesus, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
