Urgent prayers for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Servant of All
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We have read your entire post and we are deeply moved by your love and tender care for your precious cat and by the pain you are carrying as you watch her suffer. We hear how heavy this is and how much she means to you, and we join with you in bringing every detail before our Father. We do not take lightly that you said she is your world, and we know God sees the depth of your bond with her.

We take comfort that our God cares for all His creation. A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10 and Yahweh, you preserve man and animal Psalm 36:6. We are reminded that not one sparrow falls on the ground apart from your Father's will Matthew 10:29, and if He notices the sparrows, how much more does He see your beloved cat and your broken heart. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We are thankful you have come in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father, and we join our faith with yours.

We pray together now for her. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear cat to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know her by name, You formed her and You know every detail of her body. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch upon her brain tumor and upon the masses and lesions on her lungs. If it is Your will, we ask that You would completely heal her and give her a full recovery, for nothing is impossible for You. We ask that You would take away and ease any pain or discomfort she is in and grant her Your comfort and rest. We pray that You would help her to eat normal food and drink water again, that You would restore her appetite and strengthen her body, and that You would help her to have regular bowel movements. We pray that You would help her breathing and ease the coughing, that You would soothe her lungs and airways so she can breathe easily and purr without triggering coughing spells. We know how affectionate she has been and how heartbreaking it is that she now pulls away and stares, and we ask that You would restore her joy and comfort and the ability to cuddle without suffering.

We also lift up your hands and your heart as you care for her. We pray that God will guide your hands and give you wisdom and gentleness as you give her four pills twice a day, as you give the inhaler three times a day, and as you give the subcutaneous fluids. We pray He will help you to do it without hurting her or causing her distress, and that she would be calm and cooperative. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him James 1:5, and we ask for that wisdom for every decision regarding her care, for discernment to know what is best and when to act.

We pray for Your mercy in her final days, Lord. We ask that when her time comes, You would show her mercy and take her peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by love and not fear. We understand her terror of driving and the veterinarian and your desire not to let her last moments be filled with shaking and crying alone in a strange place. We pray that You would provide a compassionate veterinarian who can come to your house if that need arises, and that You would make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray that You would guard your heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7 as you walk this difficult road.

We encourage you to continue casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and to let your requests be made known to God with thanksgiving Philippians 4:6. Keep loving her well, keep seeking wise counsel from your veterinarian, and trust that God hears every desperate cry and plea you have prayed in Jesus name. He is close to you now, He collects your tears, and He will give you strength for each day and each task. We are praying with you for healing, for comfort, for daily grace, and for the Lord's perfect will to be done with mercy and peace for you both.

We read every word you wrote about ### and we hear how deep your love for her runs. Watching her struggle to breathe, to eat, to purr without coughing, and seeing her pull away to stare from a distance when she has always been so affectionate is heartbreaking. It makes sense you feel torn between wanting to give every treatment that might comfort her and not wanting to cause her more distress.

Caring for a beloved animal through a prolonged illness is exhausting in every way, and the grief you feel now while she is still with you is real. Many people feel guilt or helplessness when giving difficult medications, and second guessing every decision is normal when there are no easy answers.

One thing that has helped others in this place is staying close to your veterinary team for comfort care. If the pilling, inhaler or fluids feel traumatic for either of you, we encourage you to ask your vet or a vet tech to watch you give them and suggest gentler handling, and to keep a daily note about eating, drinking, breathing and litter box habits to share at rechecks. For your hope to keep her at home at the end if that time comes, your clinic may know mobile veterinarians in your area who provide in-home hospice or euthanasia and can talk through what that would look like.

Father, we lift ### and her family to You in Jesus name. Please ease any pain or fear she feels, give her rest and comfort, and give her family wisdom, steady hands and peace for each decision ahead. Surround them with Your nearness and mercy in the days to come. Amen.

Your sorrow has been heard, and the tender love you bear for this creature whom God has entrusted to your care is not hidden from Him who notes even the sparrow's fall. It is no small thing to watch one so affectionate and beloved suffer, to see her desire for nearness checked by coughing, to see her lie alone and stare when once she would have nestled close. The Lord knows this grief, and He would have His people comfort one another in such affliction.

This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me. That is the peculiar comfort of the believer, not only that God can give comfort by a distinct act, but that He quickens the heart to receive it, and sustains it by His Word. When He said, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, He spoke to all His people to comfort one another, and so we would bring that comfort to you now. The external comfort of the Christian is the Word of God, and the internal comfort is the Spirit who quickens us thereby. May that Word be near to you now, pressed to your bosom, that you may say in this trial, This is my comfort.

We will pray with you and for you, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our healing and our hope.

We pray that the Lord in His mercy would lay His healing hand upon your dear cat, that He who has all power would ease her pain and discomfort, and if it be His gracious will, restore her to full health. We ask that He would help her to eat and to drink again, to have ease in her breathing, and regularity in her body, and that the coughing which now interrupts even her purring and her affection would be relieved. We ask that He would grant her comfort, that she may know your love and not be sad and withdrawn, but have peace in your presence.

We pray also for you, that God would comfort your heart and establish you in every good word and work, for comfort alone is not enough without constancy, and constancy needs comfort to sustain it. May He guide your hands as you give the many pills, the inhaler, and the fluids, that you may do so with gentleness and without distress to her, and with wisdom in every decision you must make on her behalf. The Lord is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the trial make a way to bear it. May He be your strength in this wearying and tender labour of love.

And we pray concerning her departing, that the Lord would show mercy in that hour. We ask that if it be His will to take her, He would take her gently, even in her sleep in the place she knows and loves, and spare her that terror which you so rightly fear. We ask that He would in His providence provide one who can come to your house to minister to her at the last, so that her final moments may be in peace, surrounded by love, and not in fear and strangeness. The very leaves of the tree of life are for healing, and the least thing about Christ has virtue in it for the sick and sorrowing. He knows all, even as He knew Peter's heart, and that omniscience is our comfort, for He knows your love, He knows her suffering, and He knows what is best.

You are not forgotten because your burden concerns a creature whom some might call only a cat. She is part of God's creation, given to you to cherish, and your desperate cries are heard by a Father who is full of compassion. Cast this burden upon Him, continue in great prayer, for it is great prayer that lifts up the downcast heart, and trust Him to do what is right and merciful.

May the Spirit of God teach you to say even in this affliction, This is my comfort, and may the God of all comfort keep your heart in perfect peace through Jesus Christ our Lord. In His name we pray, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have read every word of your long and heartfelt request and we are praying with you in the name of Jesus Christ for you and for your precious cat.

We hear how deeply you love her and how painful it is to watch her suffer with a brain tumor and with masses and lesions on her lungs, and to see so many complications come from this. God knows your love and care for her, and He hears your desperate cries. Even as He cares for sparrows, He sees your compassion for this creature He has entrusted to you, and He is near to those who are brokenhearted.

We are joining you to bring each of these needs before the Lord:

We pray that if it is His will, He would in His mercy bring complete healing and restoration to her body, and that He would ease and take away her pain and discomfort and make her comfortable. We pray He would help her to eat normal food and drink water again, to have regular bowel movements, and to breathe freely. We pray He would relieve the coughing that is triggered even by purring, so that she can again receive and enjoy affection without distress, and that the sadness you see in her would be lifted by His comfort.

We pray for you as you care for her each day. We ask God to guide your hands and give you steadiness, gentleness and wisdom as you give her four pills twice a day, as you give the inhaler three times a day, and as you give the subcutaneous fluids each week. We pray He would help you to do these things without hurting her or causing her fear, and that He would give her calmness as you care for her.

We pray for wisdom for every decision you face regarding her care. We ask the Lord to make His will clear to you, to give you peace in seeking counsel, and to surround you with trustworthy help. And we pray for mercy when her time comes. We ask that the Lord in His kindness would spare her fear and suffering, and if it becomes necessary, that He would provide a veterinarian who can come to your home so she can be at peace in a familiar and loving place, not alone and terrified.

Above all we pray that you would feel the Lord's presence and comfort in these difficult days. Trials like this stir our hearts and remind us how much we need to trust not in ourselves but in God who raises the dead and who sustains us through every affliction. He is able to bring comfort even when there is no earthly treatment, and He promises to make a way through as we lean on Him.

We will continue to pray that God hears and answers according to His perfect wisdom and mercy, that He gives you strength for each day, and that He holds both you and your beloved cat in His compassionate care.

Father, we lift this dear cat and her owner to You. You know every detail of her illness and every tear that has been shed. Have mercy, ease her suffering, guide every treatment and every decision, and let Your peace rest on this home. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

Your deep love for your cat and the weight of this long and painful road come through clearly in what you shared, and thank you for trusting us with so much detail. It is not a small thing to watch a beloved companion suffer, to see her want affection and then pull away because it hurts to breathe, to see her stare and seem sad and distant from the affectionate way she once lived. God sees that grief. He does not measure it as less because it is for an animal he created. He knows you love her, and he knows her every breath.

Scripture says the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. That nearness is not distant or formal. It is an invitation to pour out your heart honestly before him, your sorrow, your pain, your fear, your exhaustion, your questions about what to do next. He is not looking for an outward show. He wants the honest heart, torn open before him, trusting him with what you cannot fix. You can tell him exactly how you feel, even the desperation and the weeping, and he hears.

The grief you are carrying is great, and at times there are no words that help. Long ago friends came to sit with a suffering man, and when they saw how great his grief was they simply wept and sat in silence because they did not know what to say. That is often how deep grief feels. God understands that silence too. He also understands the torment of looking back and thinking if only I had done this or that, things might be different. Try not to live in that place. Bring the past and the present to him and leave them in his hands.

Pain and grief are hard, and we would never choose them, yet God can use even these chisels in loving hands to shape our hearts to be more like his, to deepen compassion, tenderness, and trust. That does not make the pain less real, but it means it is not wasted when you walk through it with him. In the end, when his work is more complete, there is joy and glory in seeing what he has formed through what we have endured.

I want to pray for you and for her as you asked.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus we bring this precious cat before you. You care for all you have made, and not even a sparrow falls without your knowledge. You see her body, the tumor in her brain, the masses and lesions in her lungs, the coughing, the struggle to breathe, the loss of appetite and thirst, the difficulty with bowel movements. We ask for your mercy and comfort upon her. If it is your will, we ask you to heal her completely and give her a full recovery, for nothing is impossible for you. At the very least we ask you to ease her pain and discomfort, to help her breathe more easily, to calm the cough so that she can purr and be held without suffering, to restore her desire to eat and drink and to give her regular bodily functions again. Give her rest and peace.

We pray for the one who loves and cares for her. Give steady and gentle hands to give the pills, the inhaler, and the fluids without causing hurt or fear. Give wisdom for every decision, and guard from a troubled conscience afterward. Help to know what is right and timely, and to act in love and not out of guilt or haste. When her time comes, we ask for your mercy, that you would take her peacefully, and if human help is needed, provide a kind and gentle veterinarian who can come to the home so she is not terrified and alone in her last moments but is surrounded by love and familiarity.

Lord, hear these desperate cries. Draw near, comfort, and give strength for each day. Let this dear one feel your presence, know your care, and trust that you are doing what is loving and right, even when the path is sorrowful. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Please keep pouring out your heart to the Lord. He is near, he listens, and he will carry you through each step.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your precious cat and we have continued to lift her and you before the Lord.

We remember your entire request and we have been praying specifically for her complete healing and full recovery from the brain tumor and the masses and lesions on her lungs, and for the Lord to ease and take away any pain or discomfort she is in. We have prayed that God would help her to eat normal food and drink water again, to have regular bowel movements, and to breathe easily. We have especially prayed for her purring and breathing, that the coughing that is triggered when she purrs would cease, and that she would be able to receive affection and cuddle again without suffering, as we know how heartbreaking it is to see her lay alone and stare after she has always been so affectionate. We have also prayed for you, that God would guide your hands and give you wisdom and gentleness as you give her four pills twice a day and her inhaler three times a day and her subcutaneous fluids each week, without causing her hurt or distress, and that He would guide you in every decision regarding her care.

We know she is not just a cat to you but your world, and we take comfort that our Lord cares for all His creation, for we read in Psalm 36:6 that He preserves man and beast and in Matthew 10:29 that not one sparrow falls apart from the Father, and in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted.

We have also prayed for the deep burden on your heart about her future, that if it is His will to heal her completely He would do so, and that when her time comes He would show her mercy and let her pass peacefully in her sleep at home, without fear, and that He would provide a compassionate person to come to your house if that need arises, so she never has to be alone and terrified at the vet in her last moments.

If your request has been answered and you have seen improvement in her comfort, breathing, eating or peace, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and she is still struggling, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We continue to stand with you in prayer and we ask all these things in Jesus name. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
