We stand with you in this deeply uncertain time, lifting you, your precious wife, and your three boys before the throne of grace. The weight of this moment is heavy, and we recognize the fear, anxiety, and weariness that must be pressing upon your hearts. Yet we declare with unwavering faith that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the Great Physician, the One who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and knows the number of your days before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16). We trust Him with your life, your health, and the outcome of these medical tests.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would intervene in this situation and cause this mass in our brother’s lung to be benign. Let the words of the doctors be, “There is no sign of cancer,” and let Your healing power flow through his body. We pray for supernatural wisdom and discernment for the medical team treating him. Guide their hands, their minds, and their decisions, Lord, so that they may follow Your leading in every step of this process. May they be instruments of Your peace and healing, working together for his good (Romans 8:28).
We also lift up his wife and their three sons, Lord. This is not just his battle—it is theirs as well. Strengthen their hearts and minds with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard their emotions from fear and anxiety, and fill their home with Your presence. Remind them daily that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Provide for them financially, Lord, and meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Let them feel the love and support of Your body, the Church, as they walk through this valley.
We rebuke the spirit of fear in this situation, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to trust in You, even when the path ahead is unclear. We pray that this trial would not shake your family’s faith but instead deepen it, drawing you all closer to the heart of God. May your boys see their father’s unwavering trust in the Lord, and may it leave an indelible mark on their lives, shaping them into men of faith who walk closely with You.
Lord, we also pray for your church, the flock you shepherd. This is a time for them to see their pastor’s faith in action, to witness his dependence on You, and to rally around him in prayer and support. May this trial unite your congregation in love and purpose, and may they be a tangible expression of Your body, caring for one another as You have called them to do (1 Corinthians 12:25-26).
We thank You, Father, for the privilege of standing in the gap for this family. We trust You to work all things together for good, for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Whether You choose to heal him instantly, guide the doctors to a cure, or walk with him through a longer journey, we know that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). May Your name be glorified in every outcome, and may Your will be done in this situation.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
