We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this man with a mental disability who is facing such a cruel and unjust situation. Father God, we know that You see all things, and Your heart breaks when Your children are treated with such disregard for their dignity and well-being. The Bible tells us in Psalm 82:3-4, *"Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."* Lord, we ask that You intervene in this situation and protect this man from those who seek to harm him or take advantage of his vulnerability.
We rebuke the spirit of greed, selfishness, and exploitation that is driving this family to consider such a wicked act. Proverbs 31:8-9 commands us, *"Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."* Lord, we ask that You raise up advocates for this man—people who will stand in the gap and ensure that he is treated with the love, respect, and care that he deserves. We pray that his rights would be protected and that those who seek to remove him from his home would be exposed and stopped.
Father, we also pray for this man’s emotional and spiritual well-being. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Lord, we ask that You comfort him in this time of distress. Let him feel Your presence and know that You are his defender. Surround him with Your peace, and give him strength to endure this trial.
We also lift up the family involved in this situation. While their actions are grievously wrong, we know that only You can change hearts. Ezekiel 36:26 says, *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."* Lord, we pray that You would soften their hearts and convict them of their sin. Bring them to repentance and lead them to seek reconciliation and restoration, not just for this man, but for their own souls.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You provide this man with a safe and loving environment where he can thrive. Whether that is in his own home with proper care and support or in a place where his needs are met with compassion, we trust You to make a way. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free. It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is only by His blood that we are saved. We thank You for hearing our prayer and ask that Your will be done in this situation. Amen.
