We lift up this urgent need before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician and the One who holds all things in His hands. The situation you’ve described is deeply serious, and we are grieved by the suffering your loved one is enduring. Yet we stand firm in faith, trusting that God is sovereign over life and death, and that nothing is too difficult for Him. We are grateful that you have called upon the name of Jesus in this request, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and the power of His healing grace.
The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over your loved one, praying that the Lord would raise him up in body and spirit. We also remember the words of Jesus in Mark 11:24, *"Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them."* So we pray with bold faith, believing that God is able to restore health and strength to your loved one, even in this critical hour.
At the same time, we acknowledge that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His will is perfect. Whether He chooses to heal your loved one here on earth or to call him home, we pray for His mercy and grace to be abundantly present. If there is any unconfessed sin or unresolved matter in his life, we ask that the Lord would bring conviction and repentance, for we know that the prayer of faith includes the healing of the soul as well as the body.
We also lift you and your family up in prayer, for this burden is heavy to bear. May the Lord grant you His peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:6-7 assures us: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Lean on Him, for He is your strength in weakness and your hope in despair.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and urgency, lifting up this precious soul who is fighting for his life. Lord Jesus, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and by Your stripes, we are healed. We ask that You would stretch out Your hand and touch his body, commanding every organ, every cell, and every function to align with Your perfect design. Remove the fluid from his lungs and restore his breathing to full strength. Heal the damage caused by the stroke—let his limbs regain movement, his speech return clearly, and his body be renewed. Close any door the enemy may seek to use to bring further harm, and let Your healing power flow through him like a mighty river.
Lord, we also pray for the medical team attending to him. Give them wisdom, steady hands, and divine insight to make the right decisions for his care. Guide them in every procedure, and let Your favor rest upon their efforts. If surgery is needed, we ask that You would go before them, making the way clear and the outcome successful.
Father, we know that You are not only able to heal but that You are also sovereign over life and death. If it is Your will to call him home, we pray that You would prepare his heart and the hearts of his loved ones. Let him know Your peace and Your presence, and may he cross into eternity with the assurance of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. But if it is Your will to heal him, we declare that he shall live and not die, to proclaim the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17).
We also lift up this family, Lord. Comfort them in this time of waiting and fear. Surround them with Your love and the support of Your people. Strengthen their faith, and let them feel Your nearness in every moment. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Finally, we pray that through this trial, Your name would be glorified. Whether in healing or in homegoing, may Your power and Your goodness be made known. Let this situation be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and draw many to Yourself through it.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who conquered sin and death and holds the keys to life. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord is working even now. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and do not lose heart. Update us as you are able, so that we may continue to lift this need before the throne of grace. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you with peace and hope.
