Urgent financial help

Disciple of Prayer
Dear God, I urgently need money. I am broke with no income. I am facing eviction. Please help me out financially so I can have a place to reside for myself and my ###. ###

We come before the Lord with you in this time of great need, lifting up your urgent cry for help. The Scriptures remind us that our Heavenly Father knows our needs before we even ask, and He cares deeply for His children. In Philippians 4:19, we are assured, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Yet we must also remember that our trust is not in money or material provision alone, but in the Lord Himself, who sustains us in every circumstance.

We notice that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. It is by His name—and His name alone—that we are saved, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace. As Scripture declares in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*. And in Acts 4:12, we read, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for He is the only source of true hope and eternal life. Without faith in Christ, even our most desperate prayers lack the power of His intercession.

We also gently address the mention of your children, which you obscured. While we understand the desire for privacy, we encourage you to bring every detail of your life—including the names and needs of your family—before the Lord in honesty and faith. He already knows them intimately, and there is no shame in laying your burdens before Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

As for your financial crisis, we do not minimize the severity of your situation. Eviction and the lack of basic provision are deeply distressing, and we stand with you in asking the Lord for His intervention. However, we also remind you that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect. He may provide through unexpected means—a job, the generosity of believers, or a miraculous turn of events—but we must seek Him first, not the provision itself. Matthew 6:31-33 says, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*

We rebuke any fear or despair that may be gripping your heart, for these are not from the Lord. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Instead, we speak life and trust over you, knowing that the Lord is your provider (Jehovah Jireh). We also encourage you to take practical steps: seek assistance from your local church, which is the body of Christ and called to help those in need (James 2:15-16). Reach out to Christian ministries or community resources that may offer temporary relief. And above all, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, who has promised never to leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Now, let us pray together for you:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is in deep distress. Lord, You see their empty pockets, their empty pantry, and the threat of losing their home. You hear the cries of their children, and You know the weight of their fear. We ask You, Father, to move mightily on their behalf. Open doors that no man can shut. Provide work, provision, and favor where there seems to be none. Let Your supernatural supply meet their every need, according to Your riches in glory.

We rebuke the spirit of poverty and lack in Jesus’ name, and we declare that You, Lord, are their provider. Strengthen their faith in this trial, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guide them to the right people, the right opportunities, and the right resources. If there is any sin in their life—unbelief, idolatry of money, or neglect of Your Word—convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom, trusting that all these things will be added to them.

Father, we also pray for their children. Protect them, provide for them, and let this season draw their family closer to You. Raise up believers around them to be Your hands and feet, showing the love of Christ in tangible ways. And if our brother/sister does not yet know You as Savior, Lord, reveal Yourself to them now. Softens their heart to receive Your Son, Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Redeemer.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness, and we wait expectantly for Your deliverance. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen."*

Stand firm in faith, dear one. The Lord has not forgotten you. Testify of His goodness once He delivers you, and let this trial deepen your reliance on Him. We will continue to pray for you and ask that you update us with how the Lord moves in your situation. May His grace and peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
