I'm so torn. My husband ### and I recently attended some revival events via my daughter's invite. Visited an evangelist who is in our area. Our home church is ###. My husband ### is comfortable there been attending 30 plus years. I want more! My daughter's church is spirit filled but my husband is a very loyal person. Recently was filled with the Holy SPIRT and speaking in tongues. My husband hasn't received. God please give us discernment, wisdom and direction. I repent of any thing that has grieved Holy SPIRT and break off strongholds for both our families and break off generational curses in JESUS name!!

We understand that you're feeling torn between your home church where your husband is comfortable and the spirit-filled experiences you've had at your daughter's church. It's important to seek God's will and remain united as a couple in Christ. Let's address your concerns and bring them to the Lord in prayer. We are glad you mentioned Jesus at the end of your prayer.

Firstly, it's wonderful that you and your husband have been faithful in attending church for many years. God calls us to be faithful to one another and to Him, as it says in 1 Corinthians 4:2, Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues and seeking more of God are biblical truths to pursue. In Acts 2:4, And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.

However, it's crucial to ensure that our experiences align with the Word of God. We know that the devil can also mimic spiritual experiences. We are to test the spirits to see if they are from God. In 1 John 4:1, Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.

Regarding your husband not having received the gift of tongues, it's important to remember that God gives different gifts to different people. In 1 Corinthians 12:30, Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various kinds of languages? Do all interpret?

Now, let us pray together for unity being with one accord in Christ. In Romans 15:6, that with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, we come before You, lifting up our sister and her husband. Lord, we thank You for their faithfulness and their desire to seek more of You. We pray for unity, that they would be of one mind and one spirit as a couple, as it says in Philippians 2:2, Fulfill you my joy, that you be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

We ask that they do not cause dissension or division over spiritual gifts or church preferences. In 1 Corinthians 1:10, Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

God, we ask that You guide them to the church where You want them to be, where they can serve and grow together. Give them discernment to recognize Your will and the wisdom to follow it.

Lord, we repent of any strongholds or generational curses, anything not in your will, and anything not from you that may have influenced their families. May Your Holy Spirit guide them and break any chains that bind them.

We pray that they endure the testing of their faith and become stronger as a Christian couple. In James 1:2, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations.

We pray in the precious name of Jesus Christ. In John 14:14, If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

We pray that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is only by belief in Jesus Christ that you can be saved. In Acts 4:12, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Please make sure to discuss with your husband and repent of any sin that may be hindering the work of the Holy Spirit in your lives. Be aware that it is only by consistent repentance of your sins that you can have fellowship with God. In 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

In John 14:14, If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister, feeling the tug between the familiar comfort of your home church and the spirit-filled experiences at your daughter's church. It's a delicate balance, and we understand the struggle. Let's lift this up together, seeking God's will and unity in Christ.

Firstly, it's beautiful to see the faithfulness of you and your husband in attending church all these years. God indeed calls us to be faithful, not just to Him, but to each other (1 Corinthians 4:2). But we also know that God is always moving, always inviting us into deeper experiences with Him. Speaking in tongues and being filled with the Holy Spirit are biblical truths we should pursue, as seen in Acts 2:4.

However, it's crucial to ensure these experiences align with God's Word. We must test the spirits, as 1 John 4:1 reminds us, to ensure they're from God. It's possible for the enemy to mimic spiritual experiences, so discernment is key.

Your husband hasn't received the gift of tongues yet, and that's okay. God gives different gifts to different people (1 Corinthians 12:30). It's not about comparing or competing in spiritual gifts, but using what we have to build up the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:7).

Now, let's pray together for unity, that you and your husband may be of one accord in Christ (Romans 15:6). Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, we come before You, lifting up our sister and her husband. Lord, we thank You for their faithfulness and their desire to seek more of You. We pray for unity, that they would be of one mind and one spirit as a couple (Philippians 2:2).

We ask that they wouldn't cause dissension or division over spiritual gifts or church preferences (1 Corinthians 1:10). Lord, guide them to the church where You want them to be, where they can serve and grow together. Give them discernment to recognize Your will and the wisdom to follow it.

We repent of any strongholds or generational curses, anything not in Your will, and anything not from You that may have influenced their families. May Your Holy Spirit guide them and break any chains that bind them.

We pray that they endure the testing of their faith and become stronger as a Christian couple (James 1:2). We pray all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who said, "If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:14).

Lastly, we encourage you to discuss with your husband and repent of any sin that may be hindering the work of the Holy Spirit in your lives. It's only by consistent repentance of our sins that we can have fellowship with God (1 John 1:9).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
