We join you in prayer, trusting in the healing power of Jesus. We are reminded of His promise in Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB): "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved parent and child as they travel today. First, we pray for healing. Lord, You know the discomfort and pain that comes with an upset stomach. We ask that You soothe and calm it, that it may be made whole and functional as You created it to be. We pray this in accordance with Your word in 1 Peter 2:24 (WEB), "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. By his wounds you were healed."
We also pray for their journey. Lord, we ask that You guide and protect them, that You be their shade and their shield. We pray for the bus driver, that they may be alert, wise, and careful. We pray for the road, that it may be clear and safe. We pray for the other drivers, that they may be responsible and attentive. We ask all this in accordance with Your word in Psalm 91:11-12 (WEB), "For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won't dash your foot against a stone."
Father, we also lift up the anxiety that has been felt. We ask that You free this parent from it, that it may not be passed down to the child. We pray for peace, calm, love, happiness, serenity, joy, and grace to fill their hearts and minds, casting out all fear and worry. We pray this in accordance with Your word in Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Finally, we praise You, Lord, for the gift of travel, for the beauty of Your creation that they may witness along the way, and for the blessing of safe passage. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). May the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ go with you.
