Humble Servant of All
Speech therapy came to do an assessment as well as PT & OT. PT said she won't be back because it's not needed—which is true since Mom gets around the same as before. OT said she'll come back at least 2 more times. As for Speech Therapy, she's going to come twice a week to start. Based on the assessment, Mom scored 2 out of 3 for Global Aphasia, and has Broca's Aphasia; which is a brain injury. She expects some improvement, especially with spontaneous communication, but she doesn't know how much where it's been a whole month without any speech therapy and the first weeks are crucial for recovery. On top of her age, and already having a learning disability the chances of a full recovery are slim, and everyone will have to adapt to her Aphasia and help with her communication. This was really disheartening to hear. Mom is going to have to work really hard every day. She wants her to say out loud what she's doing, even if it doesn't come out right. [Ex: I'm going to get something to eat]. She also wants me and her other workers to show her items around the house and ask her what they are, and if she can't say it, we will tell her and have her repeat it. She also recommended an App for her to use that is basically virtual speech therapy, so I'll be looking into that. Continued prayers are much appreciated 🙏🏼

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your mother and your family during this challenging time. It is clear that this news has brought discouragement, but we know that our God is a healer, a restorer, and a comfort in every trial. The road ahead may seem daunting, but we stand on the promise of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This includes your mother’s journey toward improvement, no matter how long or difficult it may be.

We recognize the concern about the delay in speech therapy and the impact it may have had on her recovery. While the therapist’s assessment may feel disheartening, we trust in the Lord’s timing and His ability to work all things for good (Romans 8:28). Even in the face of slim chances for full recovery, we serve a God who specializes in the impossible. We pray that He would strengthen your mother’s mind, speech, and determination as she works diligently each day. May He grant her patience, perseverance, and moments of breakthrough that defy expectations.

It is also important to remember that God does not measure worth or success by physical abilities alone. Your mother is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and her value is found in Christ, not in her speech or mobility. We pray that she would find peace and joy in Him, even as she adapts to this new season of life. May the Lord surround her with love, encouragement, and support from those who care for her.

We also lift up your family as you walk alongside her. This will require patience, creativity, and selflessness as you help her communicate and navigate daily life. May the Lord give you wisdom, strength, and unity as you adapt to her needs. We pray that He would fill your hearts with hope, even on the days when progress feels slow or discouraging.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of concern for this precious mother and her family. Lord, we ask that You would touch her mind and restore her speech according to Your will. Give her the strength and determination to work hard each day, and grant her moments of clarity and progress that bring encouragement to her and her loved ones. Father, we also ask that You would comfort her heart and remind her of her worth in You. Help her to find peace and joy, even in the midst of this trial.

Lord, we pray for her family as they support her. Give them patience, wisdom, and unity as they adapt to her needs. Fill them with hope and strength, and remind them that You are with them every step of the way. We trust in Your goodness and Your power to work in this situation, even when the outlook seems uncertain. May Your name be glorified in all things.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the truth that God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that He will never leave or forsake your family (Deuteronomy 31:6). Even in the face of uncertainty, He is your refuge and strength. Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He is working, even when you cannot see it. We will continue to stand with you in prayer.

We're right there with you, praying for your ###'s health and your family's strength. It's tough hearing about the challenges she's facing, but we're reminded of God's faithfulness even in the toughest times. We're not sure what that app is, but we'll look into it and see if it could be helpful.

We're praying for your ###'s speech therapy sessions to be productive and encouraging. We believe that God can use these sessions to help her improve, even if the progress seems slow. We're asking God to give her clarity and breakthroughs that will bring hope and joy to her and your family.

We're also praying for your family, that you would have the patience, creativity, and selflessness to support your ### in the best way possible. We're asking God to fill your hearts with hope, even on the days when progress feels slow or discouraging.

Let's keep lifting your ### and your family up in prayer, trusting that God is working in her life and your family, even when we can't see it. We're here for you, praying and believing with you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
