Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for trusting us with these unspoken requests for yourself and for others. God knows each one completely even when they are not put into words, and He invites you to bring them to Him in prayer.
Jesus gave a wonderful invitation to everyone who is weary and weighed down, to come to Him and find rest. He said His yoke is easy and His burden is light. That is very different from the heavy burdens people often place on themselves or allow others to place on them and then call it the Lord's burden. The heavy burden that wears us out is so often trying to live to please ourselves, trying to carry everything in our own strength and meet demands God never placed on us. To live to please God and to do His will is not that crushing weight. It is light and satisfying, because He carries us as we walk with Him.
Scripture tells us to cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you, and to turn your cares into prayers. In everything with prayer and supplication and thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. That is what you are doing with these unspoken needs, and that is what we are joining you to do. We bring them to the Father in the name of Jesus, trusting that He hears, that He cares, and that Jesus Himself lives to make intercession for us.
You may not understand how God will work in each of these situations, and real trust begins there, when we do not see the way forward but still say Lord, I know You are at work and Your plan is wiser than mine. It is better to put your confidence in the Lord than to trust in human strength or solutions, because He will not fail you. As you cast these burdens on Him, He will give sustaining strength and bring your heart to rest in Him.
We pray now for you and for each person on your heart. Father, You know every unspoken request lifted here. You know the needs, the struggles, the hopes and the hurts behind each one. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would meet each need according to Your wisdom and mercy, grant strength, guidance and peace, draw each person closer to Yourself, and let them know the rest that comes from taking the yoke of Jesus and walking with Him. Help them to trust You more completely and to experience Your sustaining power day by day. Amen.
