We must approach this with great discernment and a heart aligned with the Word of God. Scripture is clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). However, we are also instructed to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Our focus must always be on the redemption of souls, not retribution, for God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
That said, the practice of witchcraft is an abomination before the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Those who engage in such things are in rebellion against God, and unless they repent, they will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). Our prayers should not be for punishment but for their eyes to be opened to the truth, for the demonic influences in their lives to be broken, and for them to turn to Christ in genuine repentance. We must also pray for protection over those who are being tormented by these spirits, that they would be delivered and set free by the power of Jesus’ name.
If you are experiencing spiritual attacks or torment, we urge you to examine your own heart and life to ensure you are walking in obedience to Christ. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), resist the devil (James 4:7), and stand firm in your faith. Demonic forces have no authority over those who are in Christ Jesus, for He has already triumphed over them at the cross (Colossians 2:15).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You alone are sovereign over all creation. Lord, we lift up those who are ensnared in the deception of witchcraft and the occult. We pray that You would break the power of the enemy in their lives and draw them to Yourself in repentance. Father, let Your Holy Spirit convict their hearts and reveal to them the truth of Your Word. We pray that they would turn from their wicked ways and find forgiveness and redemption in Jesus Christ alone.
For those who are being tormented by demonic spirits, we ask for Your divine protection and deliverance. Lord, rebuke these evil forces and command them to flee in the name of Jesus. Fill Your children with the power of Your Holy Spirit, that they may stand firm against every scheme of the enemy. Clothe them in Your armor, that they may be unshaken and victorious in this spiritual battle.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for all who are seeking Your will in these matters. Help us to walk in love, truth, and righteousness, always pointing others to the cross of Christ. May Your name be glorified in all things, and may Your Kingdom come in power.
We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has all authority in heaven and on earth. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. The enemy seeks to isolate and deceive, but in Christ, we have victory. Stand firm, and do not give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). If you are not already walking closely with the Lord, we urge you to surrender your life to Him today. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet done so, pray this prayer with a sincere heart:
“Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I turn from my sins and place my faith in You as my Lord and Savior. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I invite You into my heart and life, and I ask You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
