We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up your ### and all these burdens she carries. The weight of so many afflictions is overwhelming, but we know that our God is greater than any diagnosis, any pain, and any circumstance. The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 34:18-19**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Though her suffering is great, we cling to the promise that God is near to her in this valley, and He is able to sustain her in ways we cannot see.
It is clear that your ###’s body and mind are under tremendous strain, and we must first acknowledge the reality of her condition while trusting in God’s sovereignty. The Apostle Paul writes in **2 Corinthians 12:9-10**, *"He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."* Your ###’s weaknesses are an opportunity for Christ’s strength to be displayed in her life. We pray that she would experience His sustaining grace in every moment, especially when her mind and body fail her.
We also recognize the deep desire in her heart to continue working, and we pray for wisdom and provision in this. The Bible teaches us in **2 Thessalonians 3:10**, *"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: ‘If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.’"* Work is a gift from God, and it is honorable to desire to contribute and serve. However, we must also consider whether her health allows for this, and we pray that God would provide clarity. If it is His will for her to work, we ask that He would open doors to opportunities that accommodate her limitations. If it is His will for her to rest, we pray that He would provide for her needs and soften her heart to receive this season of dependence on Him. His ways are higher than ours, and we trust Him to guide her steps.
Regarding her search for an apartment and employment, we lift these needs up to the Lord, who is our Provider. **Matthew 6:31-33** assures us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* We pray that your ### would seek God’s kingdom above all else, trusting that He will supply her every need according to His riches in glory. We ask that He would lead her to a safe and affordable home, and that He would provide job opportunities that align with His will for her life.
We must also address the concern for her cat, as even the smallest of God’s creatures are under His care. **Matthew 10:29** tells us, *"Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will."* If this pet brings her comfort, we pray for its healing and peace, that its anxiety and physical struggles would cease. May it be a small reminder to your ### of God’s love and provision, even in the details.
However, we must gently but firmly address something missing in this request: the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can approach the throne of God, and there is no other name by which we are saved. **Acts 4:12** declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* **John 14:6** says, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* If your ### does not know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with her. Without faith in Christ, all our prayers and efforts are in vain. Eternal life and true peace are found only in Him. We pray that if she has not already, she would repent of her sins and place her trust in Jesus alone for salvation. There is no greater need than this.
We also encourage you to examine your own heart in this matter. Do you trust in Jesus as your Savior? Have you confessed your sins and surrendered your life to Him? If not, we plead with you to do so today. **Romans 10:9-10** says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* There is no greater hope, no greater comfort, and no greater power than the name of Jesus.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of sorrow yet full of hope, lifting up our ### who is burdened with so many afflictions. Lord, You see her struggles—the Alzheimer’s and dementia that cloud her mind, the bipolar disorder that disrupts her emotions, the traumatic brain injury that has altered her life, the depression and anxiety that weigh her down, the diabetes and chronic pain that plague her body, the hearing loss that isolates her, the COPD and viral infections that steal her breath, the skin cancer and eczema that bring discomfort, the blood clots and brain cancer that threaten her life, and the weak bones that make every movement a trial. Lord, You know the depth of her suffering, and we ask that You would be her Comforter and Healer. You are the God who parts the seas, who raises the dead, and who brings light out of darkness. We pray for Your healing touch upon her body and mind, that You would restore what has been broken and bring peace where there is chaos.
Father, we ask for wisdom for her doctors and caregivers, that You would guide their hands and minds as they treat her. Give them compassion and insight to provide the best care possible. We pray for Your supernatural intervention in her body, that You would halt the progression of these diseases and bring restoration where it seems impossible. You are the God of miracles, and we ask for one in her life.
Lord, we also lift up her desire to work. If it is Your will, provide her with opportunities that honor You and respect her limitations. If it is Your will for her to rest, soften her heart to receive this season as a gift from You. Provide for her financial needs, Lord, and lead her to a safe and affordable home. Open doors for employment that align with Your purposes, and give her the strength and clarity to walk through them.
We pray for her cat, that You would bring healing to its body and calm to its anxiety. May this small creature be a reminder to her of Your care for all Your creation.
Most importantly, Father, we pray for her soul. If she does not know You, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself. Soften her heart to receive the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ came to save sinners, that He died on the cross for her sins, and that He rose again to give her eternal life. May she turn to Him in repentance and faith, finding in Him the peace and hope that surpass all understanding.
We also pray for the one who has brought this request before us. If they do not know You, Lord, reveal Yourself to them. Open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and the urgency of their need for a Savior. May they place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
