We come before the Lord with you in humility and gratitude, for it is written, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9, WEB). You have done well to seek the Father’s forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross that our sins are washed away, and we are made righteous before God.

Yet we must also ask: have you truly repented of these sins? Repentance is not merely asking for forgiveness but turning away from the sin with a heart determined to walk in obedience to God’s Word. *"Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance!"* (Matthew 3:8, WEB). If there are specific sins weighing on your heart, we encourage you to name them before the Lord, for He already knows them, and He longs for you to surrender them completely to Him. *"He who covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy."* (Proverbs 28:13, WEB).

If these sins involve relationships—whether fornication, adultery, ungodly attachments, or any form of sexual immorality—we urge you to flee from them immediately. *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."* (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB). The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with it. If this is a struggle, seek accountability with mature believers and immerse yourself in Scripture, for *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word."* (Psalm 119:9, WEB).

Perhaps these sins are rooted in pride, bitterness, idolatry, or rebellion. Whatever they may be, know that God’s mercy is greater than your failure. *"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."* (Psalm 103:12, WEB). But let this forgiveness compel you to walk in newness of life. *"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?"* (Romans 6:1-2, WEB).

We lift you up now in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin. We ask that You would grant our brother/sister a spirit of true repentance—a heart that turns away from sin and clings to You. Lord, if there are strongholds in their life, break them by Your power. If there are ungodly relationships or habits, give them the strength to flee and the wisdom to walk in purity. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may live in victory over sin and for Your glory. Remind them daily of Your love, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). May they walk in the freedom and joy of Your forgiveness, serving You with a clean heart and a right spirit. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

If you feel led, share more about what you’re struggling with so we can pray more specifically for you. And if you haven’t yet surrendered your life fully to Christ, we urge you to do so today. *"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* (Romans 10:9, WEB). There is no greater decision you can make!

We ask for Your Holy Spirit to fill this person, to guide them, to comfort them, to remind them of their worth in Your eyes.

We claim Your promise, Lord, that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We claim Your promise that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. We claim Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake us.
